~ Zobek revealing his true identity to Gabriel. |
Zobek is the secondary antagonist of the Castlevania reboot game series Lords of Shadow, as well as the reboot's equivalent of both Death and Shaft, serving as an amalgamation of the two.
He serves as one of the two arch-enemies of Gabriel Belmont/Dracula.
He serves as the main antagonist of Lords of Shadow, an unseen antagonist in its two DLCs, Reverie and Resurrection, and its sequel Mirror of Fate, and the villainous tritagonist-turned-secondary antagonist of Lords of Shadow 2.
He was voiced by Sir Patrick Stewart, who also played Dr. Jonas in Conspiracy Theory, Napoleon in the 1999 Animal Farm live-action adaptation, Darcy Banker in Green Room and John Bosley in Charlie's Angels.
History[]
This section is too long. Visit here for more details: Zobek's Synopsis on the Villains Wiki.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Separated Earth from Heaven, which released horrible monsters from hell to Earth, resulting in the deaths of many. Furthermore, everyone who died from this was trapped in limbo, instead of ascending to Heaven.
- Makes deals with deceased humans by giving them powers and turning them into Necromancers in exchange for their souls.
- Used the Devil Mask to force Gabriel to:
- Murder Marie and Claudia, the former being Gabriel's wife.
- Steal the Black Knight Golem's Dark Gauntlet.
- Manipulate him into killing the other two Lords of Shadow and those loyal to them acquiring the three pieces of the God Mask, in order to gain power. This included lying to Gabriel that the reassembled Mask can be used to resurrect his wife, a lie made worse by the fact that Zobek was the reason she died in the first place.
- Causes Baba Yaba's death.
- Causes Gabriel to die in his attempt to get the God Mask, taunting him in the process.
- Although he offers to kill Dracula when he wishes to die, this is for selfish reasons with the ultimate goal of killing Satan (and Dracula) to gain more power.
- Revives a weakened Dracula by locking an innocent family (including a little girl) with him so he has to feed on their blood.
- Attempts to kill Dracula and Alucard (although this is after he realised that they conspired to kill him).
Trivia[]
- Although being less dangerous than Gabriel's archenemy, Satan, Zobek is arguably Gabriel Belmont's most personal enemy due to possessing him to murder his wife and commencing him on his dark pathway that ultimately lead to his transformation into Dracula.
- Zobek is one of the two Pure Evil versions of Death from the Castlevania series, alongside Death from Netflix’s Castlevania, and the only one from the video game series.
