“ | I may not need anybody's help to stop you, but I wasn't about to forgo the pleasure of seeing that broken look on your face when you realize what I did to your friend. I don't even care if he puts up a fight for you, I'll take pleasure in you having to go through him to get to me. | „ |
~ Zavok monologuing to Sonic about him turning Tails into a cyborg. |
Zavok is the main antagonist of Garrulous64's rewrite of Sonic Lost World.
He is the abusive leader of the Deadly Six, who, in his ambitions to defeat Sonic after being beaten countless times, resorts to using Eggman's world draining machine to drain the energy out of both Sonic's World, as well as the Lost Hex in order to gain the power necessary to defeat him once and for all.
He was voiced by Garrulous himself, though he likely would've been portrayed by Travis Willingham had the concept been fully realized.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Due to the rewrite largely keeping the story the same, Zavok commits all the same crimes his main counterpart does, including that of slowly draining the life out of Sonic's world away in a painful manner.
- He is shown to be outright abusive to the Deadly Six, as seen with him constantly berating and manhandling them, with the only exception to this treatment being Master Zik, causing Zor to become a pessimist and refuses to take responsibility for what he did to Zor and just labels him as lazy.
- While he did legitimately care about Master Zik, he seems to abandon all of this the moment Zik turns against him.
- While he was tortured into working for Eggman, with him supposedly becoming vengeful because of it, this doesn't make him tragic as not only is it clear that he was already evil prior to Eggman's abduction, but he seems to completely forget this vengeance later on, as his world destroying endeavors rely almost entirely on spiteing and defeating Sonic, showing that he was never really affected by the treatment in the first place.
- Disobeys Eggman, and demands to kill Sonic when they first meet despite having no reason to do so but his ego.
- Taunts Sonic over Tails' capture.
- Becoming so obsessed with beating Sonic. He kicks Eggman's world draining machine into overdrive, proudly proclaiming that he was willing to let all the life own world die for the sake of beating Sonic. This act even flooring Zazz.
- When Zazz tries to calm him down, he responds by berating him and the rest of the Deadly Six, saying that none of them were ever useful to him, before shooting him off the edge of a cliff using a fireball possibly killing him.
- He turned Tails into a cyborg after he was mistakenly abducted, and expressed that he didn't care if the latter turned against him, he would simply take joy in seeing Sonic suffer as he is forced to fight his best friend.
- While he is said to have completely lost it by the end of the rewrite, nothing implies that this affected his morality.
- By the end, he is left a sad, pathetic mess, with Sonic simply telling Tails that Zavok can be left alone, if that is truly what he wants. Despite this, it does not make him insecure considering he deserved it for his actions, which is motivated from his pettiness.
