Zalem is the main antagonist in the comic book Star Wars: Republic: Infinity's End. She was the original matriarch of a clan of Dathomir Witches.
What makes her Pure Evil?[]
- When she was young, she raped a Jedi Knight slave and bared his child, Ros Lai.
- She would eventually kill said Jedi Knight once she was strong enough in the force, this act would lead to her own daughter plotting revenge against her.
- Despite uniting all of the Nightsister Covens under one banner, nothing indicates she cares for the wellbeing of them as she is shown to be mainly focus on maintaining her rule and galactic domination.
- She holds no love for her own daughter as she was born deformed, she rejected her and allowed the other Nightsisters to abuse her for her lack in dark magic.
- As Queen of Dathomir, she systematically has men of different species captured and enslaved to either work in hard labor or as breeding slaves, she even admits she holds no care for her slaves.
- Upon discovering a Star Chamber on Dathomir, she ordered all the Kwi defending executed and the male Kwi enslaved so she can gain access to the Infinity Gate.
- Her meddling with the Star Chamber caused the destruction of Ova, killing all life on the planet and showing no remorse for it.
- When one Kwi tried to escape, she had him recaptured and mind raped to death.
- When Quinlan Voss was sent to Dathomir to investigate the disappearance of Ova, Zalem ordered him to be captured and taken as a slave.
- She had the entire Kwi species under her enslavement mutilated to help in gaining access to the Star Chamber.
- She tries to have both Quinlan Voss and her own daughter killed for interfering in her plans to destroy Coruscant.
- Upon gaining access to the Star Chamber, she attempted to use it to destroy Coruscant, which would result in trillions of deaths.
- While Zalem shows admiration for her daughter's powers, she immediately subverts any form of care when Ros Lai rejects joining her mother in her goals and tries to kill her.
- It is implied if Ros Lai did accept her mother's offer, she would have killed her to steal her powers for herself as she did with her father.
- Despite the high heinous standards of the Legends continuity, she stands out for the unique crime of having men enslaved for forced breeding purposes and her lower resources being only the queen of a primitive-like civilization with no form of space travel while attempting to kill trillions of lives.
