What, have you come to challenge me again? I don't have time to coddle would-be heroes. But since you insist...I will oblige.
~ Yuga to Link.
Ha ha ha! I shall soon take my rightful place among the gods! And then the beauty of destruction will rain down upon this world!
~ Yuga before the final battle.

Yuga, also known as Yuga Ganon when fused with Ganon, is the main antagonist of the 2013 action-adventure video game The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

He is a power-hungry Lorulean wizard who has an obsession with beauty and perfection who initially starts out as a minion to the desperate Princess Hilda (who seeks to revive her dying kingdom by taking Hyrule’s Triforce) before later betraying her in order to recreate the universe in his own image and become a god.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He has an unhealthy obsession with beauty and he has zero tolerance towards anything he views as ugly, which leads him to abduct those he considers perfection and seeks to destroy anything he considers (in his eyes) hideous.
  • He traps people in paintings and calls them (and himself when he wall-merges) a "work of art", or "perfection" but he only calls the Sages and Princess Zelda this on part that they primarily serve a role in reviving Ganon, and scatters them across Lorule, excluding Zelda, when he succeeds.
    • This can arguably be considered a fate worse than death as they're aware of their surroundings but are unable to move or do anything else.
  • Once he summoned Ganon, he fused with Ganon against his will and became Yuga Ganon, considered it to be a form of beauty, and became fond of the powers and abilities he obtained. It shows that he merely used Ganon as a way to advance his own plans and any admiration he had for the Demon King was due to viewing him as a source of absolute power rather than out of genuine care.
  • He trapped Link as a painting on the wall and left him there to rot for all eternity. The only reason he managed to escape this is because of the bracelet Ravio gave him.
  • He seals Hyrule Castle to deter entry and escape, leaving Princess Zelda and her castle subjects at his mercy.
  • As he was well aware of Lorule's impending doom, he feigns loyalty to Princess Hilda and manipulates her into conceiving a plot to steal Hyrule's Triforce pieces, and during the final battle, he betrays her by turning her into a painting, telling her that he has no concern about Lorule's fate and calls the kingdom just as hideous as Hyrule and reveals his true intentions of destroying both kingdoms and rebuilding Lorule to his own liking, and using the Triforce to become a god.
