“ | My wish is the death of this Rebellion. Now with the Empire in my hands, there will be no one to stop me from making that wish come true. | „ |
~ Ysanne Isard. |
Ysanne Isard, otherwise known as Iceheart, is a major antagonist of the Star Wars Legends continuity, serving as the main antagonist of the first four books of Star Wars: X-Wing series as well as one of the primary antagonists of the X-Wing novel, Isard's Revenge.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- While she was initially a sweet, innocent child who loved her father, Armand Isard, and lived a good life, this would all change as she got older. She grew more cruel and power-hungry and started viewing herself as above others.
- Framed a failure she had in a mission on her father and had the "honors" from Emperor Palpatine kill her own father. While it can be reasonable why her father, Armand Isard, wanted her dead on the mission, she was already cruel and ruthless and showed sadism when murdering Armand.
- Advised Palpatine on his reign in the Empire, suggesting he should brainwash Rebel agents, essentially mind raping them and sending them back as "sleeper agents" to the Rebel Alliance, so that they could serve as spies.
- Had many Rebel agents mentally tortured, sending them back as brainwashed sleeper agents to the Rebel Alliance.
- Captured and mentally tortured Rebel General Jan Dadonna, causing him to the point where he becomes frail.
- Cut off the food supplies of the planet Toprawa, a planet that had helped the Rebel Alliance, and had the people of the planet slowly starve to death while forcing them to in vain beg and praise the Emperor.
- Had the Ashern rebels executed by thousands, and would have continued slaughtering the million of lives of people on Vratix, all so that she could urge the Wedge Antilles to attack her.
- Had her peers and officers killed, simply for messing things up, even if they were minor, and even simply for performing below her expectations, or if they had her angry, or if she was simply feeling angry.
- Tested Imperial Officers by testing how much they can handle by torturing and killing prisoners in brutal ways.
- She tried to have the entire Imperial Ruling Council, especially Sate Pestage, killed after the death of Palpatine so that she could have power.
- Created a deadly virus, called the Krytos virus, that spread and killed millions of people, starting a war known as the "Bacta War."
- Made a Star Destroyer come from the grounds of Coruscant, killing thousands of people and even her own Imperials.
- She faked her death by making a clone of her go into a shuttle and having the New Republic ships blow it up, not caring if her clone died in the process.
- Created another clone to distract the New Republic into thinking the clone Isard is the real one, not caring about risking her clone's life for the New Republic.
- She planned to kill her clone after having no more use for her.
- While the Star Wars Legends continuity's Heinous Standards are high, Ysanne Isard stands out due to her resources.
- While she does claim to have "loved" Emperor Palpatine, it is not out of genuine love but fanaticism, and also because she claimed he had lots of "power" that he could share with her.
- Long after her death, her actions would haunt Mara Jade Skywalker for years to come, going on for over a dozen years after their first encounter.
- She was regarded by Galactic citizens long after her death as no better than the Emperor or Vader, maybe even as bad as them, due to all the heinous crimes she had committed.
Trivia[]
- Ysanne Isard has two eyes, one that is icy blue and another that is red. The blue eye metaphorically symbolizes her as icily cold, heartless, and cruel, but she was also prone to fiery, temperamental fits of anger, which is what her red eye metaphorically represents.
