“ | I ripped off my own living flesh so that I wouldn't have to admit weakness. You're strictly little league compared to that. That right there? That's the difference between bonafide true Evil with a capital "E" and your whiny "evil, but for a good cause," crap. One gets to be the butch, and one gets to be the bitch— Bitch. | „ |
~ Xykon to Redcloak. |
“ | You seem to have an interest in power, so let me educate you a little while I search for you. It's sort of this thing I like to do sometimes, especially for learned wizards such as yourself. Power, it isn't something that you put on or take off like a jacket. It's something you just ARE. If you can lose it by blowing two Will saves, you never really had any power in the first place, see what I'm saying? Hell, the idiot paladin understands better than you do, 'cause he got every one of those hit points I burned off him the hard way: he earned them.
[...] I used to think spells equaled power, too, back when I was alive. I've learned a lot since then. You know what does equal power? Power. Power equals power. Crazy, huh? But the type of power? Doesn't matter as much as you'd think. It turns out, everything is oddly balanced. Weird, but true. For example: Right now, power takes the form of a +8 racial bonus to Listen skill checks. So, uncle Xykon, what's the moral of the story? A big pile of spells isn't enough when the other guy has a big pile of spells AND the power to crush your windpipe with his bare phalanges. And they died happily ever after. The End. |

~ Xykon to Vaarsuvius, and one of his most famous quotes. |
Xykon is the main antagonist of the fantasy webcomic The Order of the Stick. He is an undead sorcerer who seeks to control the world by obtaining the five gates that seal The Snarl within its Godly prison, planning to use it as a weapon against the Gods.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Though he loved his pet dog as a kid, he was not terrified when it reanimated as a zombie. Instead, he celebrated when his pet zombie ate a bird and encouraged him to continue.
- He murdered his own family.
- He has killed hundreds if not thousands of people at the very least, mostly for fun or out of petty spite, and often revives them as zombies afterwards so he can make them fight in his army.
- He conscripts hundreds of goblins into his army to use as meat shields.
- He had his zombies eat Lirian's corpse in front of her lover Dorukan to provoke him into attacking and being killed. He also made sure it was done in sight of the soul gem Lirian was imprisoned in so that she would have to watch herself being eaten.
- He decided to trap Dorukan and Lirian in a soul gem, forever.
- He manipulated events so that his right-hand Redcloak would be forced to kill his brother Right-Eye in order to break him into total subservience before forcing him to revive Right-Eye as a zombie.
- He plans to take control over the Snarl, knowing that it can destroy the world, purely so he will have the ability to kill anything in existence.
- He tortures Haley Starshine and Elan with a Symbol of Pain during his first battle with the Order of the Stick.
- He regularly torments and kills off his own minions and laughs about it.
- He drove the Sapphire Guard insane to make them kill each other, something not even Redcloak was willing to do to the resistance.
- Additionally, he killed many paladins, simply for the purpose of claiming one of the five gates.
- He sadistically tortured O-Chul, not caring if he died from it until Redcloak pointed out to him that O-Chul might decide he’s living a fate worse than death and refuse resurrection.
- He gives O-Chul and Vaarsuvius the sadistic offer of keeping two organs of their choice if they surrender to him, before trying to make their heads explode.
- After Redcloak has his right eye stabbed out by O-Chul, he bans him from regenerating it as punishment for his perceived incompetence and tells Tsukiko to antagonise him by calling him "Wrong-Eye" to remind him of how he killed his brother Right-Eye, even though one could argue that it was his fault that O-Chul escaped as he had let him out of his cage multiple times and even allowed him chances to strike at him.
- He didn't care when Tsukiko was killed, though he was led by Redcloak to believe she was a traitor.
- He nearly killed Serini Toormuck, and mutilated her as well.
- He planned to murder Haarko in front of his family for mildly inconveniencing him.
- While he has some comedic moments, they aren’t making him less horrible.
