Xtabay is the secondary antagonist of the 2021 Netflix limited series Maya and the Three.
She is the sadistic Mayan Goddess of Illusions and one of the members of the Underworld's gods that served Mictlan. She is the archenemy of Picchu.
She was portrayed by Grey DeLisle, who also voiced Jacqueline Natla in the Tomb Raider franchise and the High Priestess in Samurai Jack.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Out of all of the Underworld's gods and goddesses, Xtabay is just as evil and sadistic, even to the likes of Mictlan himself.
- Even though Picchu spared her life, she wasn't grateful, instead, he knocked him out and murdered the rest of his village, killing his parents in the process, while tormenting him that mercy is a weakness.
- While she fought with Picchu once again, she used her illusions of his tragedy to torment him by making him kill her and make him lose his morals, but failed as he remained compassionate and merciful.
- In the Underworld, she shapeshifts into the many victims of Mictlan (Jaguar Triplets, Acat, etc.), with the intention to entertain him, but also entertain herself.
- Like the other gods (except Camazotz, Vucuub, Cipactli and Cabrakan, who redeemed themselves in the end), she is not loyal to Mictlan as she also wanted the throne for herself.
- She helped Mictlan and the other Gods to kill Picchu, the latter who sacrificed himself to protect his friends and family.
- During the final battle, she fought the Jungle Lands' army by shifting herself into the late king of their kingdom, whose also the Widow Queen's father, attempting to have them join Mictlan before declining of knowing better than her father. Xtabay, enraged, attacks the Jungle Lands soldiers in the process.
- By the time she was summoned by Mictlan like the other gods, he ripped her heart and devour it, tried to attack him but failed due to her having died.
- Even though she was killed by Mictlan, she deserved it for killing Picchu and his people.
- Although she has to compete with her master Mictlan, she manages to stand out due to having less resources than him and her actions are uniquely personal to Picchu.
- Even though she was implied to be a friend of Lady Micte, Mictlan's wife, as seen in a flashback of her wedding. There's no indication that Xtabay cared about her as their relationship was never fully extended and given she tried to kill Maya, Micte's own daughter, she could care less about how she feels, indicating that she doesn't seem to care much about Micte.
