~ The narration describing Afton. |
William Afton is the overarching antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights anthology novel series, serving as the titular overarching protagonist of The Man in Room 1280 and the secondary antagonist of the Stitchwraith Stingers.
He is serial killer of children who was forcefully kept alive by one of his victims, Andrew, so he could be tortured as punishment. After being taken to Heracles Hospital and becoming the Man in Room 1280, Afton first tricked Andrew into letting him go before following the boy to continue his murders.
Eventually, Afton merged with all the objects he corrupted to become the Afton's Amalgamation and, with help from Eleanor, planned to continue his killing spree before being stopped and killed by the Puppet.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He was a serial killer who targeted children, one of them being Andrew.
- More specifically, it's heavily implied he's the one truly responsible for the six dead children in Into the Pit, with the Spring Bonnie monster being just a representation of him rather than the true killer.
- The heavy implications from You're the Band being set in the same timeline as the Stitchwraith Stingers also means he's responsible for the events of that story, and the undead spirits haunting the animatronics.
- He tricked Father Arthur Blythe and the nurses at Heracles Hospital into letting him go to the Fazbear Entertainment Distribution Center, where he would be free from the torture Andrew put him through in his nightmares.
- He would attach his soul to the one of Andrew and follow him everywhere he goes.
- It's heavily implied he was partially responsible for all the toys and mascots infected by Andrew becoming aggressive, making him responsible for numerous stories and deaths.
- After first taking control of the Stitchwraith, he attacked and killed Dr. Phineas Taggart.
- While he would let Andrew and Jake take control of the Stitchwraith, he himself would attack and kill anyone the animatronic touches.
- He tried to prevent Andrew from ascending to the afterlife out of pure spite.
- After Jake let Andrew escape, he started mauling the boy before throwing him into the darkness. When he was being attacked, Jake felt like he was attacked by a force with a never-ending need to inflict pain.
- He used all of the infected toys, mascots, and more to create "Afton's Amalgamation". It's heavily implied the parts composing the amalgamation are sentient and in immense pain, singing to comfort themselves.
- The narration heavily implies that he would've tried to rampage across the town nearby and kill all the children there.
- He tried to kill Detective Everett Larson, even infecting him for a moment (although he was later healed).
- What Andrew made him go through was horrible, but he deserved it.
- While Eleanor did worse than him, she had more resources, and thus it's unfair to compare them.
