A King holds absolute power over his people. He is not meant to serve... He is meant to be served! To command! To possess! To enjoy! That is the privilege of royalty! And it shall be mine!
~ The Wasp King

Hoaxe, better known as the Wasp King, is the main antagonist of the 2019 role-playing video game Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling, and the titular villainous main protagonist of the Hoaxe: Origins prequel comic. He is the cruel and tyrannical monarch of the Wasp Kingdom, despite actually being a thick-headed fly.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Usurps the throne from Queen Vanessa, chaining her in his new private chamber, presumably having tortured her with his fire magic.
  • He brainwashed the majority of the Wasp Kingdom into serving him.
  • Forces the rest of the Wasp Kingdom to live in harsh conditions while he lived in his luxurious castle.
  • Imprisoned anyone in his castle dungeon who tried to stand up against him, leaving them to starve.
  • Had his army raid the Ant Kingdom twice so he could obtain the remaining Artifacts, taking Queen Elizant hostage.
  • Imprisoned the ants in the Rubber Prison, allowing his soldiers to torture them for their amusement.
  • Abandoned his army to the Dead Landers of the Giant's Lair.
  • Activated a massive malfunctioning stove that leaves a Roach village exposed just so nobody could catch up to him releasing the Everlasting Sapling from its container.
  • Ate the last leaf on the Everlasting Sapling for his own selfish desires, causing him to transcend into a malevolent god and killing the tree in the process. One of the roaches in the village implies that had the Wasp King survived until sunrise, his power would be amplified to the point where he could bring about the end of the world if he desired.
  • While he does have a tragic past of being abandoned by his parents and being forced to work as a trash collector simply to make a living, he never mentions it or shows that he’s being affected by it in the present. Even if it explains his lust for power, it doesn’t explain his cruel methods on trying to obtain it.

Trivia[]

  • The Wasp King and the Roach Scientists are the only two Bug Fables villains to be Pure Evil.
