Walter Londra is a major antagonist of the 2022 video game Horizon Forbidden West, serving as the main antagonist of its 2023 DLC expansion Burning Shores.
He is the CEO and the magnate of the space-mining company HeavenĀ¢ (Heaven Cent) and a member of Far Zenith, being one of the few to escape Earth through the Odyssey in 2065. Londra escaped during the attack of the Zenith base and come into hiding in the Burning Shores (post-apocalyptic Los Angeles), plotting his next plans against Earth and its people to escape from Nemesis with his Quen Devotees. He is the cult's leader whom he brainwashed as his own followers, as well as Nova's former master and the archenemy of Seyka.
He was portrayed in motion capture by Sam Witwer, who also voiced Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and several other related works.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- During his term as the CEO of HeavenĀ¢, Londra was the subject of a controversy regarding his attempts to cover up the deaths of eight miners in one of his asteroid mining operations, where he audaciously claimed that it was a "lesson in complacency", showing that he only treated his workers as expendables than people.
- Making matters worse is how he described the lawyers and publicists as "ants", who have known about Londra's incalculable casualties in his mining operations, further showing his dishonesty and black-hearted nature as a magnate.
- Despite his love towards his wife Evelyn, he never showed any genuine, loving relationship to her, which exacerbated after their divorce.
- He went so far in leaving her to her doom when the Faro Plague struck in 2065, meaning that anything redeeming towards his love to her was all but pure hypocrisy and lies in the first place. Even in the present where he constantly recounted his "love life" with Evelyn, whom he used it as a pathetic, fanatical excuse to put Kina and Peera into his auditioning process into becoming the new Evelyn.
- Created Nova, his personal servant AI, whom he subjected to a millennia of constant psychological torture by constantly altering its personality matrix just to simply desire his obsessive need in how it should act and behave. In the interim Nova's personality matrix was altered fifty-seven times in the present in the span of seven days, whom the AI describes it as painful and agonising and with it being aware of Londra's torture towards it.
- That ultimately drove the AI to its suicidal tendencies, even forcing Aloy to shut its source code down for good to end its suffering.
- Took advantage of the Quen's devotion towards corporate leaders by being a "God" to them and brainwashed many of the Quen expeditionary team members stranded in Los Angeles with his Mutiny Suppression Protocol, where some are given the original one that made them aggressive and ruthless enforcers.
- The ones whom he attempt to mold into his 21st-Century circle, dubbed his "retinue", are given the refined one, which made them absolutely submissive. In reality Londra had no desire to his cult, where he would only use them to gather DNA samples and clone their population, leave them to Nemesis' mercy and only cared more about his "retinue".
- Groomed Kina, Seyka's sister, into becoming a substitute to his late wife Evelyn via the "auditioning process", in his sick and twisted goal in his plans of colonising another planet for his egocentric desires.
- From there he would use the MSP into making sure that the cloned Quen and his retinue would always obey him.
- Derided and laughed at Peera getting crushed by an Apex Slaughterspine he summoned, while mocking at Kina how much of a "shame she could be his rising star", thus showing his true nature.
- Attempted to irradiate the entirety of Burning Shores and anything 1000 miles of it through the rocket's faulty Slipstream device, which had massive amounts of radiation.
- Planned to leave Earth at the mercy of Nemesis with his followers, while gloating at Aloy how she and the rest will be "choking on fallout" when the AI ravages the planet.
- Even after his demise, Londra still is defiant to the end, taunting on Aloy how she only "ruins everything", thus making him absolutely irredeemable for the worst actions he did throughout the DLC.
