Vulcan Haestus is the secondary antagonist of the 2019 Studio Trigger film Promare.
He was voiced in Japanese by Taiten Kusunoki and in English by Neil Kaplan.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- In the prequel, he tracks down many burnish and then freezes them solid with Freeze Force's ice weaponry locking them away in secure facilities.
- He invades a Burnish camp that did nothing wrong before freezing everyone there, and hauls them off while personally trying to murder several Burnish who attempts to fight him.
- After taking away Leo for his crimes, he nearly arrested Galo just for calling him out before letting him go.
- He arrested a Burnish in a pizza shop despite the fact he did no criminal activities and only did it just because he's burnish. He even arrested the owner as well just for keeping him in the shop.
- He assisted Kray Foresight into arresting every single burnish on sight before using them as living batteries for a warp engine painfully that would cause the entire earth to explode killing billions of people in the process. He did all of this just to feed his own ego and have sadism instead of actually being loyal to Kray.
- After Leo breaks out from his prison he tracks him down all the way to the burnish camp before capturing dozens of them while also brutally wounding Leo while in a fight.
- He sadistically laughs when one of the frozen Burnish get(s) shattered to pieces.
- After revealing who the traitor is he froze him solid despite everything the old man did and even admit he will not let a single burnish escape from his grasp even those who are willing to ally him.
- He attempts to capture and kill Heris after his rampage and when the Burning Rescue team arrives, he orders his team to assist him into capturing Heris and Galo and kill the Burning Rescue team.
- While his defeat was comedic as he thought his suit was caught on fire before taking it off revealing himself to be a dwarf and screaming in cartoonish noises not only was it very brief it still does nothing to distress his heinous crimes as he's still taken very seriously in-universe.
Trivia[]
- He is one of the two Studio Trigger Pure Evils (alongside Nui Harime) to not be the main antagonist of their works.
- Ironically, both Vulcan and Nui are Right-hands to the main antagonists of their respective works, who also are Pure Evil who carried out experiments on their own species and who attempted to destroy the earth.
