Volcazar is the main antagonist of the 2011 Danish computer-animated comedy fantasy film Ronal the Barbarian.

He is a tyrannical and ruthless barbarian warlord, who desired to take over the world by capturing all barbarians who were the descendants of Kron and sacrificing their blood in order to summon the giant powerful demon Zaal. Volcazar is also the archenemy of Ronal, the movie's main protagonist.

He was voiced by Lars Mikkelsen in the original Danish version, and Dee Snider in the English dub.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

• It was implied in the movie that before the events of the film he was responsible for multiple genocides and wars, including mass slaughtering of villages and populations of people in his evil and treacherous soughts for power and world domination.
• Attacked the village of barbarians, where Ronal, the main protagonist lived, destroying and catapulting it, and capturing all of barbarians.
• Murdered Gundar, the oldest of barbarians, when he tried to resist him, stabbing him in the heart with his mace and taunting him that everyone bow before him, shocking and horrifying Ronal.
• His entire lair is literally filled with thousands of skulls and dozens of impaled corpses, confirming that he has killed lots of people in the past.
• Abused his minions and general.
• Tortured one of the barbarians by using a gulf club to swing skulls at him.
• When Zandra was captured, he fought her, beating and knocking out her, and making her his maid, forcing her to serve him and help him in his villainous plans.
• Forced Zandra to help him in capturing Ronal against her will, which hurt Zandra very much because she loved Ronal and reluctantly served Volcazar. He also ordered Zandra to kill Ronal, which was very emotionally painful for her.
• Attempted to take over the world by summoning Zaal and kill anyone who refuses to submit to him.
• Despite claiming to love Zandra, he actually only used her as a tool and pawn in his plans of gaining power, and after she refused to serve him, he vowed to get revenge on the valkyrie and kill Zandra, ultimately subverting any affection, love and attachment he had to her.
• After transforming into Zaal, he tried to kill Ronal, Zandra, their friend Alibert and all of the barbarians himself.
• Although he has comedic moments, they do not detract from his heinousness, and most of his humor shows how sadistic he is.

Trivia

• Volcazar is Lars Mikkelsen's only Pure Evil role.
