| ~ Vlad Tepes to Guts while transforming into a monster |
Vlad Tepes is the main antagonist of the manga short Berserk: The Prototype, Which would eventually be the inspiration for the popular dark fantasy series Berserk.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He made a deal with the demon Vuana to obtain demonic powers.
- He waged war with an enemy nation and had around 500 prisoners staked, which included innocent civilians.
- After the war ended, Tepes started getting bored, so he decided to take young girls from their homes so he could kill them, purely out of sadism.
- This inhumane treatment caused his population to live their lives in fear, some even wishing to live back in the times of war.
- When the young girl Frikka becomes his newest “servant,” he starts to make rather perversive remarks to her, heavily hinting that he has committed pedophilia.
- When Guts tries to stop him from hurting Frikka, a fight ensues with Vlad impaling Guts and eventually trying to devour him.
- Throughout the fight and during the last moments of his life, he laments that it’s impossible for a human to defeat a demon such as him, showing that he believes humans to be lesser creatures.
- Although his actions are pretty standard in Berserk, Berserk: The Prototype has a completely different history, with much lower standards where Vlad is the worst.
Trivia[]
- Vlad can be considered an early version of the Count from the Black Swordsman Arc. Unlike Vlad, however, the Count falls short from Pure Evil due to him loving his late wife and his daughter Theresia even after his transformation into an Apostle.
