V.II Snail is the secondary antagonist of the 2023 mecha-based vehicular combat game Armored Core VI, the 16th game in the Armored Core franchise. He is the deputy commander of the Vespers, the main military force of the Arquebus corporation that has been sent to retrieve the Coral from the planet Rubicon.
He was voiced by Jon Lipow in the English dub, who also voiced Astor in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and by Hiromichi Tezuka in the original Japanese.
What makes him pure evil?[]
- He sees himself as above everyone across the galaxy, treating his entourage with utter contempt.
- After getting a generation eight augmentation surgery, he continued to take follow-up treatments as new technologies entered the mainstream in order to become stronger, sacrificing many augmented humans in order to ensure the safety of said adjustments.
- Rudely dismissed Handler Walter when the later proposed him to let Raven participate in the Wallclimber operation, only accepting after he insisted.
- Planned on sacrificing Raven during the Wallclimber mission in order to get all of the credit for the operation's success.
- While he did willingly team up with the Redguns in order to take out the Planetary Closure Administration's forces, it was only for pragmatic reasons as he needed them in order to take down the latter's forces.
- During the "Reach the Coral Convergence" mission, he leaves V.I Maeterlink to die at the hands of Raven despite her being one of his most loyal soldiers. He also ignores her when she begs for him to send reinforcements.
- After Raven defeats the ibis cel 240 boss at the end of the same mission, he shoots at him from behind with a single stun needle, incapacitating him. After that, he states to one of his superiors that he makes sure to personally punish Raven for trying to outfox Arquebus.
- While there aren't a lot of details on it, it is heavily implied that the reeducation process that he is at the head of is a process that destroys the free will of the individual through torture and forced augmentation surgery, making him responsible for indirectly torturing and mutilating countless people, all while sadistically watching all of it.
- During the Liberator of Rubicon path, he tries to kill Raven twice out of spite.
- During his final fight against Raven in the Liberator of Rubicon path, he rants about how he is Arquebus itself, all while getting angry at both his allies and his enemies at the same time, considering all of them as beneath him.
Trivia[]
- He is the only character from Armored Core VI to be pure evil, as well as the only character to be approved pure evil in the Armored Core series.
- He's also the only Fromsoftware Pure Evil to be outside of both Dark Souls and Elden Ring.
