What's The Work?

Hoodwinked is a 3D computer-animated comedy detective film for all ages. This story is yet another take on the tale of Little Red Riding Hood (here simply referred to as "Red").

Who Is He? What Has He Done?

A series of mysterious crimes are being committed in a fairytale forest: an unknown individual, dubbed the The Goody Bandit by journalists, is robbing every candy vendor in the forest, stealing recipes. Then the police are called to an incident reminiscent of the ending of Red Puckett: Red Riding Hood, having brought Granny some pies, finds the Wolf disguised as her. The Wolf lunges at Red Riding Hood, but then the Woodcutter breaks in through the window with an axe, and Granny is found tied up in the closet. Frog detective Nikki Tumbler arrives on the scene. After hearing four stories (Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, the Woodcutter, and Granny), Tumbler must determine what really happened and discover whether any of the four players are connected to the The Goody Bandit. He listens to the stories of each of the participants in the incident, and with each story, new mysterious facts are revealed...

It turns out that Red Puckett often worked as an errand girl, but always dreamed of going in search of adventure. The Wolf, along with his charge, the squirrel Twitch, works as a journalist-sleuth and is also searching for the The Goody Bandit. The Woodcutter was actually a schnitzel-on-a-stick seller and dreamed of becoming a musician, but decided to try his hand at advertising (as a woodcutter) and, at the director's request, began preparing for the role by actually chopping down trees to find the character within himself. Granny is a courageous athlete (despite her advanced age), but she hid this from her granddaughter, Red Puckett, for a long time. When Red Puckett learns the truth, she throws away her hat and leaves the house under cover of night.

After putting together all the stories, Tumbleweed finally discovers that the The Goody Bandit was a rabbit named Boingo, encountered by every hero, seemingly by chance. Meanwhile, Red Puckett, having accidentally followed the thief, ends up at an old station in the mountains, where the newly minted villain has set up his lair. Confronting Boingo one-on-one, Red Puckett engages him in battle but is defeated, and Boingo reveals his insidious plan: stealing the recipes was only the first phase; in the second phase, he plans to add a secret ingredient called "Rabbitonium" to the pies, which makes children addicted, and in the third phase, to eliminate the competition by destroying almost the entire forest. Red Puckett is tied up by the Rabbit's henchmen—a team of evil skiers whom Granny had previously encountered at a competition—and placed in a wagon loaded with dynamite, which the Rabbit lights and sets off by unhooking it from its brakes.

Meanwhile, Granny, the Woodcutter, and the Wolf also sneak into the station to rescue Red. Granny catches up with the train car, frees her granddaughter just in time, and throws the train car containing the dynamite into the river. Boingo and the bandits pursue them and almost catch them. However, Red and Granny unfurl their hats like parachutes and soar into the sky, while the villains, driven by inertia, crash into a police van and are hauled off to jail. Meanwhile, the Wolf and the Woodcutter recover the stolen hotcake recipes at the station and return them to their rightful owners.

Mitigating Factors.

There are some factors that can be see as mitigating. For example, while he says that he was bullied in the past, even if this was true (as nothing confirms this), Red didn't bully him and he still robbed her and tried to kill her brutally. Also, he doesn't give his minions any good treatment. For example, he constantly tells Keith to change his name and constantly berates him. In the sequel, he answers Red's questions, but only when she forces him to.

Heinous Standard.

He's the one to technically SET it here. While he neve commits mass murder or something like that, his thefts is what drives the plot. Moreover, he tries to kill ALL of his competitors by destroying ALL THE FOREST. Moreover, the goodies he tries to sell aren't even safe to people, as they will make people feral.

Is She Silly Enough?

He has lots of comedic moments. Good examples are him telling Keith to change his name or his defeat. But as long as other characters still see him as a threat (or, at least, take him seriously), this isn't too disqualifying.

Final Verdict?

Yes.
