Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth meet up to discuss their scheming.

Your eyes don't deceive you.

What is the work?

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir season 6 is the latest and ongoing Miraculous season. The 2015-ongoing show is about Ladybug, Cat Noir, and others who go and fight Hawk Moth and Chrysalis and various Akumatized villains and save the city of Paris. The episode Noe bringing back the Mime came out October 29th, 2025 in France on TF1+. Noé Luxus being Gabriel Agreste's successor The Diamond 2 in The Kingdom a homage/reference to SEELE from Neon Genesis Evangelion comes up with a fictional fictional propaganda film to discredit Ladybug and Cat Noir as villains, end peace on a citywide scale, and get up to general shenanigans running for mayor for example and trying to buy the Agreste company from Adrien and I guess like Tomoe.

The Secret of Ladybug is a film released an unknown year directed and produced by Noé Luxus who's the son of Audrey Bourgeois and half-brother of Chloé Bourgeois. The film was screen written by an unknown person possibly a member or affiliate of The Kingdom of unknown codename, real name, and rank. Fred Haprèle plays an unknown character a role of a lifetime. Ladybug and Cat Noir are played as completely evil in the original draft and script before being rewritten in the final draft and script to be non-villains and completely heroic. Hawk Moth is possibly and seemingly completely evil no matter the draft. Noé Luxus does leave out that Gabriel Agreste is Hawk Moth and plays them as two separate people completely.

Who are the three candidates?

Hawk Moth greets and meets up with Ladybug and Cat Noir on good terms with them before being betrayed.

Hawk Moth greets and meets up with Ladybug and Cat Noir on good terms with them before being betrayed.

Fear is sowed among Parisians. Ladybug and Cat Noir did do their real-world heroism stopping Hawk Moth multiple times, but it was faked and they are secretly Hawk Moth's allies who help him with his villainy. It is causally mentioned Hawk Moth manipulates people with his villainy although the term Akumatization isn't used and it is unknown if he can Akumatize people. Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth terrorize Paris together being a bit diabolical.

Ladybug and Cat Noir threaten and scare a journalist not wanting him to expose them. Hawk Moth is shown side by side with Gabriel Agreste two separate people and they possibly fought in some way although the exact specifics of them clashing ideologically and philosophically are unclear.

Ladybug and Cat Noir get concerned they might get snitched on. Cat Noir uses Cataclysm to kill both Gabriel Agreste and Hawk Moth separately leaving behind only ash corpses/statues that get shown on-screen referencing Cat Blanc. Cat Noir uses Cataclysm to murder the journalist permanently wanting to get away with his crimes with no consequences.

The journalist's script exposing Ladybug and Cat Noir does get released and made into a film. It is unclear with fictional fictional Ladybug and Cat Noir what their exact fate is so they might be Karma Houdinis possibly.

Redeeming qualities?

Ladybug and Cat Noir are still a couple, but it isn't mentioned or said they love each other. Ladybug and Cat Noir's heroism still exists, but it was engineered and staged by them to make them look good. Ladybug and Cat Noir aren't shown caring about any family, friends, or other superheroes. It is unknown if Ladybug is still Marinette and/or Cat Noir is still Adrien meaning their redeeming qualities such as care for each other, care for Marinette's father Tom, care for Alix in The Dark Castle, care for Alya/Rena Rouge particularly in Revelator and Illustrhater, care for Nino, etc aren't shown to still hold up. Cat Noir does make reference to his version in Cat Blanc with his crimes, but he doesn't have a known tragedy and isn't played sympathetically at all. Both are played completely villainously and neither of the Ladybug and Cat Noir duo are Akumatized and both show full moral agency.

Hawk Moth is shown to be a separate person from Gabriel Agreste and there is no reason to say he still cares about Emilie like she isn't mentioned or referenced at all unlike Cat Blanc and Ephemeral; Hawk Moth lacks Gabriel's redeeming qualities, Hawk Moth not being Gabriel Agreste lacks Gabriel's redemption and dies a remorseless villain. Hawk Moth gets killed by Cat Noir with it being a reference to the episode Cat Blanc partially, but it isn't played for any sympathy on his end with him still dying an irredeemable villain not tragic. Hawk Moth was against himself dying with this being a reference to Cat Blanc, but it did appear he was more wanting to continue his crimes and possibly be a Karma Houdini rather than any genuine standards against murder. Hawk Moth did greet Ladybug and Cat Noir before he is betrayed by them not completely lacking in affability, but it could be pragmatic with him wanting to continue his villainy and he did seem to want to be a Karma Houdini not killed by Cat Noir and I don't think this is gone in-depth enough to be redeeming.

Cat Noir can come across as a literally me type character, but it was deemed non-preventing with Patrick Bateman and he still shows no redeeming qualities. The trio have an Evil is Cool factor with their fun designs, voice acting, and comedy, but they still have no redeeming qualities as it doesn't make them any morally and ethically truly better.

Heinous standards? How do they compare to each other?

Hawk Moth is a deceased ash statue and still aura farms; Gabriel Agreste is a separate person from Hawk Moth literally turned fatally into ash. Ladybug and Cat Noir menace the journalist threatening to make him next.

Hawk Moth is a deceased ash statue and still aura farms; Gabriel Agreste is a separate person from Hawk Moth literally turned fatally into ash. Ladybug and Cat Noir menace the journalist threatening to make him next.

Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth are the only villains who exist in the film. Gabriel Agreste exists separately from Hawk Moth, but his unforgivable abuse towards Adrien does appear to be completely cut. No Akumatized villains appear and their villainy isn't confirmed to exist. The city being terrorized and people being threatened isn't gone fully in-depth and explored, but Cat Noir still brutally murders 3 people and the trio are played as completely evil. Chrysalis for example doesn't get mentioned or referenced at all meaning the trio do still appear to stand out from her.

Cat Noir does technically personally and directly do all the kills remorselessly which I think allows him to stand out. Ladybug possibly doesn't directly kill anyone, but still threatens to murder a journalist and enables and encourages Cat Noir to murder people remorselessly. Hawk Moth technically doesn't personally kill anyone, but still enables and encourages Ladybug and Cat Noir's crimes and he only cares when he dies.

Cat Noir is confirmed to have Cataclysm still, but it is unknown if he still has Miraculous Cat Noir or any of his other powers to use for resources. Ladybug seems to he still peak human, but it's unknown if she still has Lucky Charm or Miraculous Ladybug or any of her powers to use for resources with how radically different she is. Hawk Moth seems still peak human, but it is unclear if he has any of powers such as Akumatization to use for resources with how unusual and strange he is compared to his actual real version; Hawk Moth is mentioned as manipulating people, but it is unclear if it is still Akumatization. It was unclear how powerful Cataclysm is exactly outside of it being used for murder of one or two people at a time.

Fridge Horror? Offscreen villainy? Portrayal?

I was at first skeptical of the trio specifically for Fridge Horror, but I think there might be an argument for them counting under portrayal rules. Cat Noir is played as evil as possible being compared to The Devil for example appearance and personality wise; Cat Noir is even shown having vampiric fangs in one frame; Ladybug is played as being as much of a sadist as possible when not faking being a superhero; Hawk Moth is played as a hammy over the top Saturday morning cartoon villain and fearmonger a bit despicable. I do think Ladybug and Cat Noir threatening the journalist and them being as causal as they are about it might give them the edge to pass baseline even without Fridge Horror. It does get said by Ladybug and Cat Noir that they plan on leaving nobody alive to expose them on a global scale which doesn't appear to be literally attempted omnicide, but still an attempted murder on at least one person potentially with Cat Blanc being referenced in terms of the brutality and dark tone of the attempted kill.

The method Cat Noir's three confirmed victims die to Cataclysm is a bit brutal like they turn into ash statues referencing Cat Blanc which you maybe could argue passing baseline and not relying on Fridge Horror with the sheer brutality and dark tone of it. Ladybug and Hawk Moth don't show a clear method of killing anyone due to their lack of superpowers outside of asking Cat Noir to please do it. Cat Noir killing Gabriel and Hawk Moth isn't shown entirely, but the corpses are still shown on-screen and the exact method and time gets shown. It is unclear with Ladybug and Cat Noir how many people they plan on killing or even who exactly after the journalist, but the exact method and tone is known and shown with there being some pattern and portrayal of them being villainous.

Silly? Too silly?

They are over the top caricatures of Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth who have their PV like designs and are very exaggerated. They get played completely serious in-universe like Cat Noir's murder of Gabriel and Hawk Moth scares Manon and Nadja some for example. Hawk Moth dies to Cat Noir with him disliking this some taking Ladybug and Cat Noir a bit seriously. Cat Noir and Hawk Moth reference the episode Cat Blanc darkening the mood slightly, but are still kind of darkly comedic like the complexity and tragedy is cut and they are played a bit over the top with their crimes and personalities. Hawk Moth does have a bit of an over-the-top defeat and death like he gets killed by Cat Noir via Cataclysm and still stops to aura farm even at the sight of him literally brutally dying.

Noé Luxus does get some details about Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth right, but just unknowingly and unintentionally. Ladybug and Cat Noir are secretly Hawk Moth's allies, but just in a different universe (Miraculous World: Paris - Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir). Cat Noir does really kill Hawk Moth, but just a different timeline or context (Cat Blanc and Destruction). There is some dramatic irony with the trio although it might just be ham. The trio don't get played as seriously as Noé is making them comic relief somewhat and minor comic relief.

Verdict?

Extremely weak yes to Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawk Moth for terrorizing Paris together and Cat Noir murders at least 3 people with Cataclysm with Ladybug and Hawk Moth enabling and allowing this some being villainous and getting played as evilly as possible. Cat Noir's kills can be very easily mistaken for Fridge Horror, but rewatching the scene multiple times there is enough brutality to pass baseline and there is enough known method for his attempted kills. Hawk Moth does a bit less than Cat Noir and Ladybug arguably, but he is still a diabolical villain who subverts all his redeeming qualities and is particularly evil with his portrayal and him enabling their crimes some.
