Unicron, also known as the Chaos Bringer, is the overarching antagonist of the 2023 science fiction action film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the second installment of the rebooted continuity of the Transformers live-action film series.
He is the cosmic Cybertronian god of chaos and destruction who wishes to destroy everything that exists to obtain peace in his own twisted ways and kill his twin brother, Primus (the benevolent Cybertronian god) by devouring planets. In the early 1990s, Unicron sets his sights on devouring the Earth after learning the Transwarp Key was there from his most powerful enforcer Scourge, leading the Autobots and Maximals to engage in a war with the Terrorcons in order to stop Unicron from reaching both Earth and Cybertron. He is also the arch-nemesis and twin brother of Primus the Creator.
He is voiced by Colman Domingo.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- In the past, he was a vile deity so large and powerful that devoured many planets around different galaxies as fuel to sustain himself. When he discovered the Maximal jungle planet and the Transwarp Key, which can allow him to travel through countless galaxies from time and space itself, he sent his legion of Terrorcons and his most powerful minion, Scourge to fight against the Maximals for the key. This was done primarily to acquire a device that could easily allow for Unicron to traverse through different galaxies to consume including Cybertron (aka his twin brother and arch-nemesis, Primus).
- This would indirectly result in the death of Apelinq, the original leader of Maximals, who entrusted Optimus Primal (the current leader of Maximals) and the other Maximals to conceal the key from Unicron.
- He both physically and psychologically tortures his enforcer Scourge for only bringing him half of the Transwarp Key, while threatening to make him "wish he had died with the rest of his planet" if he fails him again. In the process, he dismisses Scourge's beliefs the Maximals split the Transwarp Key as excuses.
- Even if Scourge isn't any better than Unicron due to temporally killing Bumblebee and Mirage (those two being revived later), it's still worth noting that he was abusive to Scourge.
- He intends to kill his twin brother and arch-nemesis, Primus the benevolent god of creation, by destroying and devouring Cybertron, which shows he doesn't have any compassion or love for his family.
- After Scourge succeeded in retrieving the Transwarp Key, Unicron sends the Terrorcons and Predacons to fight the heroes and stop them from taking the key again. He proceeds to mock Optimus Prime that in spite of his great effort in trying to save Cybertron and Earth, it is hopeless as he is about to ingest not only both, but all life in the universe.
- When Scourge requested for the reinforcements, Unicron deployed more Predacons to deal with the Autobots and Maximals.
- After all of his minions were destroyed, he attempts to manipulate Optimus by giving him anything he wants only for the Last Prime to destroy the Transwarp Key, trapping the Cybertronian God for now, at the cost of the Autobots losing their way to return back to Cybertron (Unicron's arch-nemesis and brother, Primus).
- According to Optimus Primal, while being trapped in the Maximals' galaxy for now, Unicron will come back in the future to destroy Earth and both the Maximals and Autobots, as well as seeking out and killing his twin brother and eternal foe, Primus.
