Norman Osborn, also known as the Ultimate Green Goblin, or simply the Ultimate Goblin or the Green Goblin, is a supporting antagonist in Ultimate Spider-Man, serving as a minor antagonist of The Spider-Verse arc in the third season and a supporting antagonist of the Hydra Attacks/The New Sinister Six arc in the fourth season.
He is a monstrous version of the Green Goblin from another universe in which he actually succeeded in killing Peter Parker/Spider-Man, later targeting the show's main universe when summoned by Doctor Octopus and Baron Mordo. Ultimate Goblin is now the archenemy of Miles Morales/Spider-Man later Kid Arachnid.
He was voiced by Steven Weber.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Nothing indicates that he and his main counterpart share the same origins since he has a different appearance and powers from the main Goblin, and in the same series an alternate female version of Goblin wasn't turned by the serum until the main Goblin gave her it. As such, nothing indicates that Ultimate Goblin has moral agency issues.
- He killed his own Spider-Man, something even the main Goblin had failed to do.
- He attempts to kill his main counterpart, refusing to believe that they are the same person because, in his opinion, the latter is "weak".
- He attempts to kill Miles Morales and the main Spider-Man.
- When Doctor Octopus and Baron Mordo summon him in the main universe, he attacks them and Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, with Spider-Man having to bring in Miles to help.
- After getting his hands on the Siege Perilous, and discovering its destructive power, he decides to use it to destroy the entire main universe while also trying to kill Spider-Man and Miles and seemingly killing Mordo (although it's later revealed that he was sent to another universe). The threat Ultimate Goblin poses through the device is so big that Miles has to destroy it, which prevents him to go back to his own universe (later in the series, Miles actually manages to find a way back home but simply decides to remain in the main universe, but this doesn't change the impact Ultimate Goblin has on him since at the times it seemed impossible for Miles to return home and see his mother again).
- He joins the Sinister Seven and attacks the Triskelion, fighting Miles (now Kid Arachnid) and Dagger.
- After defeating Kid Arachnid, he knocks Scarlet Spider out and attacks Spider-Man before being defeated for good by the latter.
- If he knew that Scarlet Spider was secretly a member of the Sinister Seven then this is even worse because it means he attacked his teammate, although it's possible that he did it to keep Scarlet Spider's cover or simply because he didn't know he was on his side.
- He manages to stand out not only due to his cruelty, but also because he's effectively working on lower resources than other villains and seemingly isn't that smart. This seems proven by the fact that, unlike the main Goblin, he doesn't use gadgets and he attempts to destroy the main universe while he himself is in it.
