Tyrone "TK" King is the main antagonist of the 2010 video game Dead Rising 2 and it's 2011 re-imagining Dead Rising 2: Off the Record.
He is an executive producer to the reality TV show "Terror is Reality" which involves murdering zombies for people's entertainment. He then is revealed to be involved in starting the outbreak in Fortune City along with Raymond Sullivan in order to loot the cities vaults and escape with his newfound wealth while leaving Chuck Greene to take the blame for it all, forcing Chuck to repeatedly risk his life throughout the game to bring Tyrone to justice and prove his innocence. He is the archnemesis of Chuck Greene.
He was voiced by Daren Herbert.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
Both Versions[]
- After not getting the amount of money he wanted from his TV show, he orders Raymond Sullivan/Brandon Whittaker to unleash the zombies and starts another outbreak, getting thousands, possibly even millions, of people killed while he goes around looting Fortune City of its money through banks and casinos and then attempts to escape it.
- When he spots Chuck/Frank while trying to get away on a train, he orders his men to try to kill him, only for Chuck/Frank to defeat most of them and confront TK though he would end up disconnecting the part of the train Chuck/Frank was on from the part of the train TK was on while mocking him and shooting at him in the aftermath.
- While trying to escape through a helicopter, when he sees Chuck/Frank trying to sabotage the escape, he orders his henchmen to shoot at and try to kill Chuck, only for Chuck/Frank to end up getting the helicopter destroyed with TK being knocked unconscious as all his money flies around before being captured and taken in to the base Chuck/Frank and his allies were at.
- While he has some funny lines such as telling Chuck, Stacey, and Rebecca that he thinks the gas that turns zombies berserk sounds like "good shit and I'll have to try some myself" or him telling Chuck not to be such a downer after TK framed him since he made him famous, or him calling Frank "a fat chump reporter messing up his stuff" most of these moments just show off his dark humour and he is taken completely seriously in universe.
- He shows no remorse for causing the outbreak, telling Chuck he made him famous by framing him and brought Frank back into the public eye even after Frank tells him thousands have died from the outbreak.
- He knows right from wrong, as when Chuck and Frank tell him what the hell he has been up to, he tells them that "he is just enjoying the land of opportunity Chuckie/Frankie" meaning he is fully aware that he can do whatever he wants since the outbreak has gotten rid of all the laws, unlike most psychopaths who have a questionable moral agency and/or Freudian Excuse.
Exclusive to Dead Rising 2[]
- He has Raymond Sullivan wear Chuck Greene's TiR outfit while releasing the zombies in order to frame Chuck for the act.
- While being interrogated by Chuck about the gas unleashed to mutate the zombies, TK mocks him about how he's the perfect culprit due to his wife's death in Las Vegas as well as the false evidence planted, including one of them potentially being stain on pants from "Chuck pissing before the zombie fights" while chuckling about it.
- Right after Chuck gives him Zombrex to get rid of the infection that a zombie bite put in him, TK taunts Chuck about how his daughter, Katey, will "have to die soon" due to how well he's raised her, laughing about it.
- After Chuck chases after Raymond Sullivan, TK proceeds to escape, kidnap and tie up Stacey and Katey with the intent of having them both be fed to zombies in front of Chuck out of sadism. He sadistically tells Chuck about this when he returns on a walkie talkie and tells him to follow his instructions and arrive at a certain location if he wants them to remain alive. If Chuck does not make it in time, TK will feed them to the zombies while watching, laughing in the process.
- When Chuck arrives, TK proceeds to knock him unconscious by tasing him while laughing before tying his feet to a rope and trying to have him watch as Stacey and Katey get fed to zombies, only for Chuck to climb up the rope and make an attempt to save them, which TK sabotages, causing the two to engage in battle, with Chuck ending up winning by tossing TK into the crowd of zombies, giving him the fate he deserved.
Exclusive to Off the Record[]
- He kidnaps Rebecca Chang and holds her for ransom, forcing Frank to collect $1,000,000 in 18 hours and bring it to the shoal nightclub, otherwise Rebecca will be killed. If this does happen, he leaves a taunting note for Frank to find at the door of the nightclub.
- Despite promising to give Rebecca back to Frank if he gets him the money, he still has the Bailey twins attempt to kill him regardless if he brings the money or not.
- After Frank chases after Stacey Forsythe, TK proceeds to escape and kidnap Rebecca Chang after she survived Stacey's shot with the intent of having her bleed to death and contacts Frank about this through a walkie talkie while sadistically taunting him about it.
- When Frank arrives, TK also proceeds to knock him unconscious by tasing him before puts him in a ring with zombies in an attempt to get him eaten by them while he has Rebecca lie down and bleed to death, only for Frank to climb up and try to heal her with TK trying to stop him, engaging in a fight with him, with it ending with Frank tossing him into the crowd of zombies, giving him the fate he deserves.
