~ Tooru to Yasuho.

Toru is the main antagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part VIII: JoJolion.

Introduced as Yasuho Hirose's ex-boyfriend from high school, he first presented himself as an ally and tried to help the team to catch the head doctor, only to later be revealed as the mastermind behind the mass smuggling ring that is the Locacaca Organization, with the head doctor also being revealed to actually be Toru's Stand, Wonder of U.

He was voiced in Japanese by Nobunaga Shimazaki (who also voiced Mahito and Joffrey Baratheon in Japanese) in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle R.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • During the 1940s, he would let one of his minions, Radio Gaga, lure and devour anyone who would come close to his plantations of Locacaca.
  • It is implied that he murdered and replaced the real Satoru Akefu with Wonder of U in order for his Stand to impersonate him, all for the sake of his scientific and medical ideas being taken seriously with his Stand possessing an elderly appearance.
  • Caused the death of Rai Mamezuku's father, and subsequently caused his mother to become ill from grief.
  • Groomed the young Yasuho Hirose into becoming his girlfriend. This is particularly heinous considering that he first met her when she was only 9.
    • Continuing on from the previous reason, he also implies that at one point they had sexual relations with one another, which if it were confirmed, would make him a child rapist.
  • His organization went on to experiment on several humans to research the many effects of the Locacaca Fruit. One of the victims was the half mother of the protagonist, Holly Joestar-Kira, which would result in her being in an unhealthy condition for years.
  • His reasons for helping humanity are pragmatic and self-centered without any genuine empathy for them, seeing himself as someone who is naturally atop everyone and above calamity.
  • In his debut, he killed one of his minions, Poor Tom, after he outlived his usefulness.
  • Sends many of his associates to go kill Josuke and his team, which included Yasuho.
  • With his Stand, Wonder of U, he sent many people "in the flow of calamity" which caused numerous injuries and deaths. The casualty count included several friends of Josuke.
  • Before his death, he brutally stabs Kaato before he turns into a real rock and perishes. Kaato also later dies from blood loss.
  • In one of his most detestable moments, Toru had no qualms with leaving Yasuho in a near-death situation despite seeming loving her; he is seen dancing to Wonder of You after watching a heavily-wounded Yasuho suffer and cry for help.
  • Despite his death scene seemingly being played for sympathy, as he sees a hallucination of a hornet, this is not the case, as hornets are used as food and survival source Rock Humans.
  • While Rock Humans are known to be anti-social due to their minds not being complex enough to form genuine bonds, Toru has a clear moral agency and personality as Rock Humans are shown to differ right from wrong, and Toru can easily and pragmatically manipulate others with his charm and emotions through his way, showing he does have a moral agency.
  • Stands out by being a mass murderer responsible for the deaths of several major characters, and because of the lower standards of the new universe, making him rank up the same standard level as Dio Brando.
