| ~ Foyet threatening Aaron Hotchner and his family |
George Foyet, better known as The Reaper, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Mr. Scratch) of the crime-drama TV series Criminal Minds.
He is a narcissistic, sociopathic and misogynistic serial killer who appears in Season 4, Season 5, Season 9, and Season 15. He makes his debut in "Omnivore", meets his end in "100", appears in a dream sequence in "Route 66", and makes his last appearance in another dream sequence in the Season 15 finale "And in the End".
He is portrayed by C. Thomas Howell, who also voiced Professor Zoom in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Though the Reaper was abused by his father, this is never played for sympathy. In fact, BAU Agent Aaron Hotchner actually tries to play it for sympathy, but Foyet denies that he was abused, saying that those are Hotchner's words, not his.
- He hates women and sees them as weak as his mother couldn't protect him from his father's abuse.
- When he was 9 years old, he killed his mother and father in a car crash, which showed that he was a psychopath even as a child.
- As a teacher's assistant, he groomed and sexually assaulted several students.
- Prior to the events of "Omnivore" he killed 20 people by stabbing them, beating them, or shooting them to death. Foyet purposefully gave the most brutal kills to the young girls, as he was sexually fixated with them. One such victim was his own girlfriend, who he killed and mutilated himself to fake being a victim.
- He made a deal with the lead detective Tom Shaunessy; "If you stop hunting me, I'll stop hunting them." While he did this, he only thought about it so he could watch Shaunessy's life fall apart, as he found that more enjoyable than killing.
- When Shaunessy died and he started to be bored, he went back on his his murder spree by killing 2 couples.
- He offered Hotchner the same deal as Shaunessy in an attempt to destroy his life as well, with Hotchner turning it down being a huge part of why Foyet began to terrorize him.
- Stabbed Michael O'Mara, the new lead detective to death.
- He tackled Agent Derek Morgan through a window, knocking him out. Afterwards, stealing his credentials and leaving a bullet behind as a reminder that he could've killed him as a taunt.
- Went onto a bus and massacred a bus driver and six of the passengers. The killing was brutal too, as he shot them non-fatally and decided to give them a more painful death by stabbing.
- Broke into Roy Colson's house and threatened to kill him.
- He attacked Hotchner in his home:
- He stabbed Hotchner 9 times, just enough to severely injure him, but not enough to kill him.
- While he took Hotchner to a hospital afterwards, it was not because he cared about his well-being, but because he wanted to continue to torment him.
- For the location of Hotchner's wife Haley, he tortured US Marshall Sam Kassmeyer by shooting him in his legs and mutilating his fingers, leaving him to die afterwards. He eventually found Haley’s information anyways by going through Kassmeyer’s contact list, making his torture of Kassmeyer completely pointless.
- Posed as a US Marshall and told Haley that Hotchner was dead, and her position's been compromised; to terrify her all while letting Hotchner listen in on this phone call.
- He forced Hotchner to listen as his ex-wife was killed.
- When Hotchner arrives to rescue his family, Foyet attempts to kill him.
- He threatens to kill Jack after showing him the bodies of his dead parents and telling him that it was Hotchner's fault.
- Because of his actions, Hotchner would have permanent PTSD and Jack’s life was ruined.
- In “Route 66” Hotchner’s stabbing wounds inflict enough damage that he is put into surgery. While Foyet in the hallucination weirdly comforts Hotch while he is there, it does not make him sympathetic.
