The Man In The Woods is the unseen main antagonist of Island of The Slaughtered, a horror AU story made by Eavee-ry on Tumblr, which was based on the animated show Total Drama. He is a hermit living in the woods of Wawanakwa who started to kill the contestants due to being on his property, kickstarting much of the plot of the AU.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- When Chris McLean hosted Total Drama on the island he lived in, he plotted to kill everyone just because he didn't want them on his island instead of just threatening them to leave.
- While it's implied he had trained and kept a wolf pack as his pets that follow his orders, there is nothing that confirms he cares for them beyond their assistance in murder.
- Given that he already has a rack built as a torture device on his island, it could be surmised that he already had plans to murder anyone anyway, even before he knew there were intruders on his property.
- Killed fifteen of the teenage contestants in horrific ways, with some getting their corpses desecrated, such as:
- Dismembering Ezekiel Miller and scattering his severed parts all over the island, while writing a warning using his blood to scare the contestants into leaving.
- Sewing Lindsay Top’s mouth shut while she was still alive before throwing her off a cliff.
- Feeding Sadie Unda to a pack of wolves while her friend Katie was forced to watch from her hiding spot in a tree.
- Cutting off Justin Batofel’s face with a knife before dumping his body into a river.
- Bashing Beth Yensten’s head into a boulder while leaving her mouth in a permanent smile via ripping her braces clean off, just because he hated her sheepish smile.
- Elongating and torturing Tyler Kenard to death using a wrack after Tyler triped and bruised his knee.
- Strangling Noah Sterecra with a rope, as well as stabbing him before drowning his body into a nearby lake.
- Throwing Bridgette Summers into a fire pit, causing her to burn to death when she was trying to help Harold McGrady.
- Dismembering Geoff Algolen with a machete and sewing Geoff’s head and right arm onto an unconscious Owen Burnham (which The Man knocked him out with a bat), with the latter enduring all the pain during the process.
- Pushing Devon Joseph "DJ" Benson off a hill, before he would later due to succumbing to his injuries, with his body never being found. While DJ then became a nature spirit who would protect any animals, this wasn't the intention of the Man in the Woods.
- Impaling Trent Cooper with several meat hooks after catching him with a bear trap, while also flaying his vocal cords out of his mouth.
- Slamming Harold’s head into a table and a second time into a TV, leaving him to die.
- Snapping Courtney Satella’s leg and hanging her on several hooks in a dance position on the stage.
- Decapitating Heather Kasuga with a chainsaw and leaving her head in the fridge after finding her "pretty" (showing him to be a perverted ephebophile as well).
- Even after seven survivors were able to escape, they were left traumatized by the Man's murders, with Sadie's best friend Katie ending up as an emotionless shell.
- He doesn't seem to care about the fact that the contestants are unable to leave the island as he wanted, given that Chris left them with no boats, making his actions even more despicable than they already are.
- His actions would indirectly lead to the contestants' spirits haunting the island and barring Chris out of Heaven for eternity (though Chris deserved it due to leaving them to die in the first place).
- He is presumed to have gotten away with his crimes, considering his current status was still unconfirmed by the time Chris' soul was damned. (Although it may be possible that he was also killed by ghosts of his victims, since he doesn't seem to be on the island by the time of the present, even though he had lived there before the show started filming)
- Assuming he wasn't killed by the ghosts of his victims by the time Chris returned to the island; the reason why Chris may not have been targeted by The Man In The Woods could be because the spirits are keeping Chris to themselves to give him a fate worse than death by keeping his spirit trapped on the island, preventing The Man In The Woods from killing him.
- While he is never directly shown in person, his personality and motivations are mentioned clearly, showing sadism with his kills, pettiness, and even perversion after considering one of his teenage victims (specifically Heather) as "pretty".
Trivia[]
- It could be possible that the Killer is based on the Escaped Psycho Killer with a Chainsaw and a Hook from the Total Drama episode "Hook, Line, and Screamer", as the Killer in Island of the Slaughtered used a chainsaw to kill Heather, and had also set traps around the island.
