Legends say that the Great Hog was born from lava, spat out by the Nether itself to feast on the bones of those who dare to show any resistance.
~ The Great Hog's journal description.

The Great Hog is the main antagonist of the 2023 video game Minecraft Legends. He is the aggressive, tyrannical leader of the Piglins who seeks to conquer the Overworld to take it for himself, and kill everything that comes across his army.

Like the rest of the Piglins, the Great Hog communicates with roars, growls and squeals.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Despite being a Piglin, who are described to be always power-hungry and opportunistic, he has moral agency because they do have potential for kindness (as seen when a Piglin tries to stop another Piglin from angering the Unbreakable and getting killed in the process). Additionally, Legends is confirmed to be a prequel to Dungeons thanks to the Heart of Ender's cameo, and in that game there is a friendly Piglin Merchant, once again proving they have moral agency.
    • While his description states the Nether itself created him to kill any opposition, it's outright said it's but a legend, and thus unconfirmed to be true.
  • He seeks to conquer the Overworld, kill everything in it and corrupt it into a second Nether, making it more dangerous in the process. Additionally, it's been stated that the Piglins will "devour everything", once again proving he is genocidal, if not outright omnicidal. Foresight also claims that everyone will be "conquered", making it highly likely he also plans to enslave any survivors.
  • He's shown to not care for his minions due to abusing them regularly, such as beating one up for delivering bad news. A good chunk of the time he ends up killing them in the process.
  • At one point, he had the Seer cause an endless night that made the Piglins even more aggressive so they would kill more.
    • His shock at the Seer's power when they do so isn't an indication of standards, as he has nothing to even be disgusted by, and he's simply surprised to see the magic they possess.
  • Him being angered at the Beast, Devourer and Unbreakable's deaths it's not a sign he cares for them, since he was previously shown to have choked and nearly killed the Beast for failing him. Rather, it's a sign of anger at their failure to kill the Hero.
  • He killed the three Piglins that delivered him the news about the deaths of his three generals, before having the Seer enchant his staff so he could kill the Hero himself.
  • In one last attempt to be victorious, he tries to destroy the Well of Fate by throwing his charged staff at the structure unaware that it would destroy him and the other Piglins.
  • Despite not speaking nor appearing much, he's still shown to have enough personality to stand out, being sadistic, wrathful, power-hungry and selfish.
