| ~ The Entity to Dylan Porter as he kills his babysitter infront of him |
The Entity is the main antagonist of the 1994 slasher film Wes Craven's New Nightmare, the seventh installment of the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
In a separate continuity where the previous films are fictional, it is an ancient demonic entity who takes on the form of the worst creations of humanity's imagination. It returns in the twentieth century in the form of Freddy Krueger.
Like the character he takes the form of, he is portrayed by Robert Englund, who also portrayed the Phantom of the Opera in the 1989 film.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- Since Freddy Krueger is a fictional character with New Nightmare, The Entity easily meets the heinous standards of his story.
- While one may assume that he fails the baseline due to only killing four people throughout the movie, in truth, he actually passes the baseline as it’s stated that he has been doing this for thousands of years. Evidence of this being Robert Englund paintings, which showed him ripping innocent people to shreds and tapestries of him pulling people apart during the climax.
- Displays no evidence that he's made of evil.
New Nightmare[]
- Possesses the glove prosthetic and uses it to gruesomely slaughter two technicians, Charles "Chuck" Wilson and Terrance "Terry" Feinstein, the former by lugging the claws in his neck and the latter by digging in to his chest.
- Cuts Chase Porter’s fingers.
- Carves holes on one of the walls in Heather’s house in order to remind her of his presence.
- Harasses Heather on the phone for weeks.
- Slashes Dylan’s beloved plushie Rex.
- Dices Chase vertically in his car while he is driving home, further traumatizing Heather and Dylan and causing the latter to briefly attempt suicide by jumping off a tall structure at a playground in order to “reach God” and reunite with his father.
- Torments Robert Englund in his dreams and forces him to paint imagery of him tearing into small crowds of innocents.
- Traps Robert as a hapless fly in a spiderweb in another nightmare and appears as a spider, causing him to flee town while also preventing him from being able to help Heather and Dylan.
- Leaves several pages in Heather's mail box, which when put together spell “Answer the phone.” When Heather did this, he sticks his tongue out through it while telling her that he had touched Dylan. Upon seeing this, Dylan starts convulsing on the floor, forcing Heather to bring him to a hospital.
- Attacks Heather at her own home.
- While at the hospital, he tells her in a dream that he is getting closer to Dylan.
- Forces Dylan to watch as he impales his babysitter Julie and began dragging her up the ceiling before breaking her neck in front of Dylan while he is helpless to do anything.
- Pulls Dylan up and down at a highway, nearly getting him run over in the process.
- Destroys Rex by slashing him apart.
- Kidnaps Dylan and holds him hostage in order to lure Heather to him.
- Ambushes Heather and lowers her into a pit of snakes.
- Tosses Heather into a support beam, knocking her out.
- Chases after Dylan and attempts to eat him.
- Tries strangling Heather with his tongue.
