The Commandant is the main antagonist of the war 2005 novel Beasts of No Nation and the 2015 film adaption. He is a commander who fights in a civil war in an unknown African country. He captures the main protagonist, Agu, and forces him to work in his Battalion.
He is portrayed by Idris Elba, who also played Shere Khan in The Jungle Book, Colin Evans in No Good Deed, and Brixton Lore in Hobbs & Shaw.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Goes on rampages on towns and causes mass murder and mass rape.
- He kills his solders who are not good at using guns, combat, and listening to orders.
- While Agu might seem like the only one to be working in his Battalion, he recruits dozens of children to kill and rape.
- Forced Agu to kill a man with a machete using Agu's dead family as an excuse.
- He rapes Agu who is a child and is implied to rape another kid named Strika.
- Kills a whole rebel group due to a prostitute shooting one of his lieutenants
- When Agu points a gun to him due to him endangering his men and getting them killed, he yells at him and tells the group that they will die if they leave
- He is supposedly a Karma Houdini due to not getting killed at the ending.
