Blut und Boden. Blood and soil. As the world grotesquely marches toward a homogeneous society of half-breeds, we alone remain pure of blood. We alone remain committed to the Führer's glorious vision of the future. But despite our efforts, our enemy has ousted us from our homeland. And now we will oust them from theirs. Because we... we are not like the Jew; weak and begging, who walked the desert... for mindless circles in a generation. Our exile has come to an end. We will purge this country of the filth that inhabits it, and begin again... with a new regime, a Fourth Reich. Your time has come, Travis. Join us. Jedem das Seine.
~ The Colonel initiates Travis into the Fourth Reich's inner circle.

Eva Hitler (née Braun), better known as The Colonel, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Adolf Hitler) of the Amazon Prime original series Hunters. Based on the real-life wife of Adolf Hitler, she is revealed to have faked her death at the end of the Second World War and established an international Nazi underground with the intention of establishing a Fourth Reich in the United States.

She was portrayed by Lena Olin, who also played Mona Demarkov in Romeo Is Bleeding.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • Unlike the real Eva Braun, she hates her husband, viewing him as pathetic and weak and only staying with him as a path to power. Despite this, she fully supported his racist ideology and genocidal agenda.
  • At the end of the war, she and her husband established a network of thousands of Nazi war criminals and formed a plot to establish a Fourth Reich in the United States, allowing them to carry out their plans a second time and exterminate all lesser races.
    • Much of this was done by the Colonel, who did most of the work in assembling the network, directly leading and overseeing its plans and writing The Coming Race, a manual outlining the conspiracy's ideology and aims.
  • As leader of the Nazi underground, she is responsible for a number of terrorist attacks carried out by the conspiracy, including the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, the attempted assassination of Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meier and the B'nai B'rith hostage crisis.
  • She conspires with Nazi allies Katarina Löw and Schidler Corp to develop the Solution: a potent biological weapon which will be distributed throughout the United States in corn syrup products, mainly targeting inner city minority neighbourhoods. The Solution is projected to kill 12 million people in the first month alone and more or less eradicate the minority population of the United States.
  • After U.S. sanctions make it impossible to import the Solution from South America, the Colonel arranges to have a number of congressmen blackmailed to vote in favour of lifting sanctions, including having her right-hand man Travis Leich threaten to kill the children of Congressman Dick Marshall if he doesn't vote to repeal sanctions.
  • When Undersecretary of State Biff Simpson, an agent of the Fourth Reich, causes trouble for her plans out of paranoia about being killed when he's no longer useful (something it's implied the Colonel has done in the past), the Colonel falsely promises to make sure he's protected before trying to have him killed, resulting in the death of his innocent mother-in-law for which he is framed.
  • She dismisses the murders of her surrogate sons Tobias, Alexander and Lukas by Travis since they were too weak to survive.
  • She orders Travis to track down and kill the Hunters, allowing him free reign to torture and kill anyone who gets in his way.
  • She orchestrates bomb attacks in New York City in order to provide a cover for the Solution to get through customs unchecked, triggering the New York City blackout of 1977 and resulting in riots and looting across the city and the death of Murray Markowitz.
  • After her plan is foiled and she is confronted by Meyer Offerman (actually Wilhelm Zuchs), she escapes by forcing him to drive his car off a bridge, almost drowning him.
  • She has Hunter Joe Mizushima kidnapped and brought to Hitler's villa in Argentina, where he is tortured and brainwashed into a loyal Nazi.
  • When Hitler is captured and put on trial, she plans to have him assassinated in order to usurp him as leader of the Nazi movement.
  • She has Hitler broken out of prison in order to kill him, resulting in the deaths of several first responders, before shooting dead his escort and trying to have him shot by Travis.
  • While she has an affair with Travis and plans for him to be part of her Reich once Hitler is dead, it appears to just be because he's proven to be an effective right-hand who she believes to be loyal to her rather than Hitler and is more sexually satisfying than Hitler.
