Kenneth Chase, also known as Jeffrey Hawk or The Clown, is one of the playable killers in Dead by Daylight.
He is voiced by Sébastien Duval.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- The Clown does technically have a Freudian Excuse: His mother died while giving birth which caused his father to be distant from him. However, this doesn't make him sympathetic due to his crimes and he completely sheds his tragedy through his actions. Additionally, his tome shows that he was monstrous even as a child, as when he was seven he was confronted by his father about kicking a dog, he thought about how he enjoyed kicking the dog and wanted to cut off his father's finger to make him cry, causing him to laugh maniacally.
- He killed numerous birds and disposed of their entire bodies but one feather, all because of the rush of having a life at his mercy.
- He eventually started killing other animals, such as squirrels, raccoons, and dogs, collecting their paws.
- He killed a young man and collected his finger.
- When his father discovered his box of mementos, he escaped punishment and joined the circus. Under a new identity, he mentally and physically tortured people at his circus caravan before killing them and collecting one of their fingers, even targeting children. He would regularly survey the crowd to select a victim depending on how "perfect" their fingers were.
- He secretly greased a trapeze which the trapeze artist used, causing him to slip and fall to his death. While the audience reacted in horror and trauma, Jeffrey laughed in glee as he enjoyed their horror.
- He chased after a mustachioed man whom he saw as having a perfect finger. When he captured the man, he slammed his head against the floor, severed all the fingers on his left hand, and gouged out his eye, before he finally killed him with poison and stabbed him 3 times, seeing it all as a game.
- He hunts, kills and sacrifices the Survivors for the Entity under its orders. He serves the Entity under his own free will because he felt its realm was home to him rather than genuine loyalty.
- Despite the high heinous standard, the Clown is one of the few characters who meets the standards. He's one of the few Killers who actually killed and tortured children (the other two being the Huntress and Freddy Krueger: However, the Huntress didn't intend on killing them and Freddy is a crossover villain) and the only one who tortured and murdered animals and went so far that his Freudian Excuse stopped justifying his actions. Due to being one of the oldest Killers in the game, it's also possible that he has a higher body count than most of them.
- Although one could argue he suffers from off-screen villainy, he still commits his signature way of killing in the game itself, collecting the Survivors' fingers if he kills them. Also, some of his add-ons include parts of his backstory.
