The Announcer is the secondary antagonist of the story "Gumdrop Angel" from the Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights anthology novel series.
He is an employee at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza who serves as the announcer during the parties. Aware that Freddy's makes their Birthday Gummies via transforming humans into gummy creatures, the Announcer eagerly continues their cycle but making sure one of the children at the party eats the nose that would transform them into another gummy.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He participates in Freddy Fazbear's Pizza's disturbing "Birthday Gummy" plans, where they use a supernatural candy to forcibly transform a person into a humanoid gummy creature (during which they suffer memory loss) that is then served to children to be unknowingly cannibalized by them, with the victim still alive as the process is happening. The birthday boy/girl of the party then gets to eat the gummy's special gumdrop nose, which would transform them into the next Birthday Gummy so the process would continue.
- While this is only shown on-screen two times, it's enough to make a clear pattern, and there is a third victim set up on the end of the story. Additionally, he even tried to make the 5 year old Ophelia the next gummy.
- While the Announcer is a random employee, he proves himself crucial to the operation by deciding when the gummy is dropped down and ensuring that the cycle will continue, thus making him stand out compared to Dominic, the story's other villain.
- Additionally, it's mildly implied at a brief point in the story that this Freddy's is also haunted, which would make it even worse assuming these are the Birthday Gummy victims.
- Despite his brief screentime, he proves himself to be a sadistic, remorseless manipulator and far worse than Dominic, who is presented as a genuinely nice guy who regrets sacrificing Angel, by constantly smiling as the gummy is eaten.
- He ultimately gets away with zero punishment, free to continue sacrificing people.
- Even in the high Heinous Standard of the Fazbear Frights series, the Announcer still stands out due to his crime of forcibly transforming someone and then having them be cannibalized by unknowing children is cruel and unusual enough to meet the franchise's standards, especially due to his low resources.
