Surtur is a secondary antagonist in season 2 of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
He is the lord of the Fire Demons and the ruler of Muspelheim, now enslaving and possessing Amora the Enchantress while also planning to personally bring Ragnarök with fire.
He was voiced by Rick D. Wasserman.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Upon being freed from Muspelheim, his first act was to lay waste to Nidavellir while retrieving shards of the Twilight sword, killing countless dwarves.
- He turns the Enchantress into a mind-controlled slave known as the Demon Queen.
- He kidnapped people from Korbin by the score (possibly to kill them) while also using its sun to reforge his sword, destroying not just that planet but also two neighboring ones.
- He then has Fire Demons hunt down Beta Ray Bill and the other surviving Korbinites for no apparent reason.
- He wants to burn the entire universe down to the stone.
- He is responsible for the entire plot of "Powerless", as his sending The Enchantress to Loki's prison led to the Avenger's powers being stripped from them.
- While one could argue Surtur to be a generic doomsday villain, he at least has enough of a personality to be here. He sadistically taunts Thor about enslaving the Enchantress when she begs him to mercy-kill her, and is so feared by Asgard that not even Loki (a fellow Pure Evil) would dare crossing his path, since he completely left Muspelheim out of his plans in season 1. And worse yet, he's one of the few villains to face zero punishment for his actions due to the show's cancellation.
