I see you like to play with knives!
~ Rhamat’s most famous quote as he gets confronted by Lee Christmas.

Suarto Rahmat is the secondary antagonist in the 2023 action film Expend4ables, the fourth installment of The Expendables franchise.

He is a notorious terrorist and mercenary who came into conflict with the Expendables when they were assigned to retrieve stolen missiles from him as part of a scheme conjured by his mysterious employer, Ocelot, to start World War III between the United States and Russia.

He was portrayed by Iko Uwais.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He has a notorious reputation for committing terrorism throughout his career, and he may be likely held accountable for countless deaths during that time.
  • He took up Marsh's offer of starting World War III for no other reason than just plain sadism, meaning he is okay with causing millions to billions of deaths.
  • He raided a military compound in Libya to steal nuclear detonators on Marsh's behalf, causing the deaths of dozens of Libyan soldiers.
  • He brutally killed two soldiers on the battlefield for General Fezzan's whereabouts, piercing the latter's neck after he told him, and later killed three more and impaled General Fezzan.
  • After tying up General Fezzan, he killed his wife and dropped her corpse in front of him while having his son at gunpoint as a bargain to get the codes to the detonators. Even after complying, Rahmat still shoots the son in front of Fezzan out of sadism.
  • During the vehicular chase and fight with the Expendables, he shoots down the plane that Barney Ross piloted and nearly causes his death, but he survives nonetheless at the end of the film.
  • He sets up a false flag operation, disguising a Thai cargo ship into being a US aircraft carrier to ship a built nuclear-type viable bomb to Vladivostak in hopes of setting it off to blow up the Russian Coast, which could've cost millions of deaths.
  • He captured the Expendables with Marsh's help, who played a victim, and later set up an exchange to retrieve Phen Byeong Lai (whom Marsh kills later on).
  • He ordered the search against Lee Christmas, which led to him fighting and killing his men throughout the ship.
  • He attempted to kill Lee Christmas himself in combat before he met his deserving demise.
  • He doesn't care about his men, no better than Marsh has to his, as he lacks any concern over their safety and isn't above getting them killed when hunting down Lee Christmas.
  • Despite working with Marsh, their partnership is more superficial and mutual than working for him out of loyalty—he seemed to enjoy punching him in the face while he pretended to be taken hostage.

Trivia[]

  • He and his boss Marsh are the only Expendables Pure Evils.
