NOTE: This page is only about the Transformers: Prime and Transformers: Robots in Disguise version of the Starscream as his Cybertron Games and Exodus novels incarnations were not voted as Pure Evil. Thus only the Transformers: Prime and Transformers: Robots in Disguise version of the Starscream's info and crimes should be put here.

All hail Starscream!
~ Starscream taking leadership of the Decepticons.
Starscream:: Fine but miserable. And I cannot believe that you take our alliances for granted. After all I have done for the Autobots helping to restore your memory, saving Arcee's life.
Optimus: While you have at times proved beneficial to us, it has been only to further your own interests.
Starscream: Well, we can't all be as selfless as you.
~ Optimus rightfully calling out Starscream for the selfish traitor he really is.
Why assume that we will be the ones that perform the deed. After all, if the Predaking were to discover that say... the Autobots were responsible for wiping out his comrades, our resident beast may in turn destroy our hated enemies for us, or they him.
~ Starscream putting his own spin to Megatron's orders to annihilate Shockwave's Predacon clones

Starscream is the secondary antagonist of the 2010 animated series, Transformers: Prime and the main antagonist of the second half of Season 2 of its 2015 sequel series, Transformers: Robots in Disguise.

He is the treacherous and scheming second-in-command of the Decepticons, Starscream frequently plots to usurp Megatron's position as the supreme leader of the Decepticons to conquer the galaxy, frequently butting heads with the Autobots and becoming one of their most dangerous foes. Disillusioned by Megatron's decision to disband the Decepticons at the end of Prime, Starscream becomes an independent threat seeking to succeed where Megatron failed using the powers of the Minicons.

He is voiced by Steve Blum, who has also voiced Vilgax and Zs'Skayr in the Ben 10 franchise, Jindiao in Kung Fu Panda: Paws of Destiny, Ares in God of War, the Green Goblin in The Spectacular Spider-Man, Red Skull in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Sauron in the Middle-earth: Shadow games and Darkseid in Justice League: War.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

In General[]

  • While he does have many comedic moments to show how much of a cowardly weasel he is, the story will then flip the tone of Starscream's character and remind the audience that he still should remain an actually credibly threat to the audience to which his most horrid acts are played very much straight that one of the few times Starscream wins has Optimus Prime, known for keeping his emotions in check, scream in rage due to the fate of Cybertron being at stake, with his very introduction of killing Cliffjumper in a family-unfriendly scene sets the tone for how dark the series will be.
    • By the time he returns in Robots in Disguise, Starscream's laughably evil traits are abandoned to become a much more imposing figure to show how much he has grown now that he no longer has to fear Megatron.
  • While he did seem to get closer to Knock Out as the series went on despite their frequent banters to show they could have a dysfunctional yet still genuine friendship, when push comes to shove, Starscream would toss Knock Out under the bus for his own sake and would not regret it, such as when Starscream tried to have Knock Out take the fall for his entire Terrorcon outbreak and suffer Megatron's wrath, and frequently shut him down.
    • Knock Out even turned on him because he knew Starscream would've fired him out of the first air lock, with Starscream hoping Unicron would kill him first when he is on his cell.
  • While he did grow more loyal to Megatron from Season 2's finale due to Megatron's decision to spare his life (even going so far to react with despair to his master's death and wanting to kill the Autobots to avenge his demise), when Megatron returned from the dead and announced his intent to disband the Decepticon cause, Starscream became disillusioned with Megatron due to him losing his lust for power and then almost immediately schemed to take power and kill him.
  • He is a terrible boss that has mowed down dozens to even hundreds of his men, be it by abandoning them to their deaths, sacrificing many of them for the sake of his plans, or for just them getting in the way.

Past[]

  • Ever since Airachnid went rogue, Starscream took her position as the Decepticons' torture technician, using a variety of horrific tools to slowly break away the bodies of Autobots ans having killed loads of Autobots when they refused to crack. It is shown he relishes in making his defenseless captives suffer.
  • He subjected Arcee and Cliffjumper to routine torture, to the point where Arcee could only whimper and feebly express her defiance to Starscream, and it was so bad, Starscream knew a swift end was mercy to them, using this as reward to Arcee if she decrypted the encoded message from Optimus.
  • When Arcee refused to decrypt the message from Optimus, Starscream has Cliffjumper's life be held on the line and had him join the multitude of Autobot corpses on the ship's hold.
  • He sanctioned Shockwave's use of the cortical psychic patch against Cliffjumper and Arcee, willing to risk them getting their brains fried to acquire information.
  • When Cliffjumper banked on his pride, Starscream sadistically asked if he should use blunt force or precise dissection when he tortures Cliffjumper to death.
  • He abandoned his ally, Shockwave, to die on Cybertron when the Space Bridge collapsed.

Season 1[]

  • He was introduced having a wounded and defenseless Cliffjumper murdered by ramming his barehand into his chest, just out of petty spite of reminding him that he is a servant of Megatron.
    • This ends up setting the tone for the series to show how real death will be in Prime, while frequently using this to inflate his own ego and show how much he enjoys inflicting harm.
  • He handed over Cliffjumper's corpse to be desecrated by Megatron to be a mindless Terrorcon that killed or destroyed what all is in front.
    • While Starscream was initial hesitant at first when Cliffjumper was uncontrollable, when Megatron made it clear he is researching a method to control the Terrorcons, Starscream then wholeheartedly supported the creation of such a vast Terrorcon army to raze planets like Earth to submission, having even operated the Space Bridge to allow Megatron to control all the dead within Cybertron as his own army.
  • When the Vehicons reports of Arcee is sighted and accompany by Jack, Starscream ordered to destroy them both.
  • He subjected Agent Fowler to repeated electric torture to pry the location of the Autobot base from him.
  • Upon realizing Megatron was still alive, he tried to remove the shard of Dark Energon keeping alive in an attempt on his life, only relenting because Soundwave was spying on him.
    • He then took every excuse he could find to not tend to Megatron's comatose body.
  • He dispatched Makeshift to disguise himself as Wheeljack and infiltrate the Autobots.
    • When he saw that the Autobots planted a bomb on him, Starscream abandoned an entire squadron of his men to die form the explosion just to save his skin.
  • Upon Knock Out and Breakdown finding the Energon Harvester, Starscream tried to use it against them out of petty annoyance for referring to him as 'Commander' than 'Lord', and when this killed a hapless Vehicon mook, slowly & painfully draining his very life, Starscream smirked at the sight while marveling at the Energon Harvester's power, intending to make good use of it.
  • He bribed Knock Out with a position to be his second-in-command for a conspiracy to kill Megatron.
  • He tried to flood many human coastal cities by melting a glacier, just so he could claim an Energon deposit in the Arctic regions.
  • He desecrated Skyquake's corpse and turned him into a mindless Terrorcon to try creating his own Terrorcon army to usurp Megatron.
  • While he was shocked at Megatron's refusal to save Breakdown from MECH, it was only due to Starscream believing Breakdown is one of the Decepticons' finest soldiers and is too valuable to lose than any actual care.
    • He only later saved Breakdown for the sole sake of forcing him to be indebted to him and have no other choice to support Starscream over Megatron than any goodness of his heart, and when Bulkhead saved him first, he only gave him a half-hearted thanks and even forced Breakdown to betray Bulkhead against his wishes.
  • When Airachnid abandoned him, Starscream tried to join the Autobots to get back at the Decepticons, but ultimately showed how irredeemable he is that he refused to abandon his pride that he took offense to Airachnid stealing the credit for killing Cliffjumper, not knowing that Arcee was referring to Tailgate who was slain by her before meeting Cliffjumper.
  • Upon noticing Arcee's anger, he goaded her into freeing him for a fair fight just so he could dishonorably slay her barehanded while taunting her about Cliffjumper's death, and upon being spared, he ended the episode declaring that he will only be loyal to himself and nobody else.

Season 2[]

  • He butchered two Vehicon soldiers, even gutting one of them for his own amusment.
  • Any time he helped the Autobots, it was only for his own self-serving ends, such as giving information to the Autobots just to have them repair him, and even his seemingly honorable act of freeing Arcee to get even from her sparing him before, was only done to lull the Autobots to a false sense of trust to continue manipulating them.
    • When Starscream brought all of them up, Optimus Prime shut him down to say any help he provided to them was for his own selfish agenda, and Starscream admitted that he was right.
  • He destroyed Bumblebee's T-Cog, a valuable and near irreplaceable organ for the Cybertronian biology, and even went as low to taunt him about this.
  • He attempted to ally with MECH and harvest the T-Cogs of various Autobots and Decepticons alike for their own self-serving ends.
  • He manipulated the Autobots into facing Airachnid, knowing Megatron too would arrive, just so he could have all his enemies kill each other in one place.
  • He sent all of his clones in an attempt to invade the Nemesis, and when they turned against each other, as they are clones to an infamously treacherous being, Starscream executed the last one.
  • He tried to use the Apex Armour to beat Optimus and Dreadwing to death, musing about how he never felt this good since he punched the fatal hole on Cliffjumper.
  • Using the Red Energon, Starscream stole the Omega Keys and handed them over to Megatron so that he can use them to activate and abuse the Omega Lock just to get back at his good graces.
  • He led the charge to kidnap the human children, Jack, Miko and Rafael, allied with the Autobots when they were coming from their school, so that Megatron could use their lives by threatening to expose them to Cybertron's toxic atmosphere to force the Autobots to hand the Omega Keys back.
    • He also took the most delight in this, scratching Jack's container and telling how it's time to play to terrorize Jack, and using him as the bargaining chip for 2 Omega Keys.
  • He gave the coordinates for the Space Bridge near Earth to ensure Megatron can use the Omega Lock to wipe out all life on Earth, joining with the other Decepticons in their laughing when this occurs.
  • He took great joy leading the Decepticon charge in destroying the Autobot base, even shooting down Wheeljack's ship and capturing him.

Season 3 & Predacons Rising[]

  • He captured Wheeljack and tortured him for days on end, even mutilating his chasis, to force him to sell out the Autobots.
  • He sacrificed many of his men to give Wheeljack the illusion he escaped the Decepticon fortress, so that in truth he could track him down to other Autobots and attack them.
  • He tried to use New Kaon's fusion cannons to obliterate an oncoming human army.
  • He became the caretaker for Shockwave's Predacon clone, Predaking, before abusing and torturing him to force him to obedience out of a dismissive notion that he is just a mindless beast, and not even regretting it when it was revealed Predaking is a sapient creature of his own right.
  • When Starscream accidentally turned CYLAS into a Terrorcon, he put the entire crew at risk while covering up the entire zombie outbreak just to save his skin.
    • He even tried to make Knock Out his fall guy to escape the consequences of his actions even though moments before he bonded with him.
  • When Predaking revealed himself to be a sapient being capable of transformation, Starscream whole-heartedly supported Megatron's decision to annihilate all the Predacon clones that Shockwave is breeding in his lab.
    • Starscream interjected his own spin to the plan by manipulating the Autobots into annihilating the Predacons for him, an idea that impressed Megatron that he made Starscream the executioner of the plot.
  • He kicked off the plan to annihilate the Predacon clones early so that Shockwave could be killed in the Autobots' attack and thus no rivals to his position as Megatron's lieutenant.
  • He wholeheartedly supported Megatron's plan to rebuild the Omega Lock to terraform Earth because he was excited to finally see humanity exterminated.
  • He and Shockwave reestablished a Predacon cloning facility in Cybertron, breeding Lynx and Darksteel, who Starscream abused and tortured exactly like how he did with Predaking.
  • He abandoned Shockwave to be torn apart by the Predacon Terrorcons when Unicron arrived.
  • He tried to hijack the Nemesis, one of the few tools Cybertronians have to defeat Unicron, and abandon Cybertron to be destroyed by Unicron just to save his skin.
  • When Megatron refused to continue the Decepticon conquest and disbands it, Starscream almost immediately tried to use the power vacuum to rebuild the Decepticons.

Robots in Disguise[]

  • Using Darkmount's weaponry, he had all the Predacon survivors exterminated to save his skin, and then fabricated his bravery to boast about how he annihilated the Predacon race on his own.
  • He subjected the Minicons to torturous experimentations so that he could enslave them for their power and be even more powerful than a Prime.
  • He nearly killed the Decepticon Scavengers who the Minicons turned to in order to escape Starscream.
  • He held Bumblebee's teammates hostage so that he could force Bumblebee into surrendering.
  • With the Dark Star Saber, he turned on his minions and used its power to knock out and nearly kill them and the Autobots.
  • He planned to destroy Megatron and the Autobots for their crimes against him, and then use the Minicons and Megatron's Dark Star Saber to be his own doomsday devices to conquer the entire galaxy.

Trivia[]

  • This is, alongside his Film Series, Prime Wars, and Cyberverse incarnations, one of the four incarnations of Starscream to prove himself to be more vile than Megatron.
