“ | I… AM… GOD! | „ |
~ Sonic.exe's most famous quote. |
X, also better known as Sonic.exe, is the titular main antagonist of the Sonic.EXE creepypasta and its sequel Round 2. He is an eldritch interdimensional energy-based entity that was created in a void and took the form of Sonic, deciding to enslave all of humanity once it manages to fully merge its world with Earth.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Upon learning about the human world, he decided that humanity belongs to him as his "toys" and that he should rule over them and all other lifeforms for all eternity and attempts to merge his world with theirs to enslave all humans.
- After seeing he could not completely access the human world, he manipulates a hacker by influencing the evil in his heart to make him create a disk which would serve as a gateway to X's realm.
- Killed about 32 people, including Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman, stealing their souls and ripping them out to drag them in his realm to torment them for as much as he pleases.
- When he gets bored with his slaves, he proceeds to turn his mouth into a black hole and devours them out of existence. He even got Eggman into a vegetative-like state for unknown reasons.
- Leaves some of his victims in catatonic like states, with their physical bodies still being alive but being robbed of their own sense of selves and not being able to move at all as well as being mutilated, leaving them in a fate worse than death.
- He is thought to have made his slaves immortal simply so he can keep butchering them for his own amusement.
- He torments a boy named Tom by invading his dreams, taunting him about how he's gonna be his next victim and how he already killed Kyle, who was Tom's best friend. Later, Tom commits suicide in a desperate attempt to escape from X, but inevitably makes him stronger.
- He shows clear personality as he's shown to take great pleasure in stealing people's souls and tormenting them and being incredibly sadistic.
- Has the Cult of X, a cult dedicated to worshipping him as a deity, do bidding for him by having them create multiple copies of his disks, sending them in multiple places to have multiple people captured by X.
- Although Sonic.Exe himself despises the death of someone very much, even to the point he is not pleased by the Cult of X killing someone, it is not only hypocritical as X is willing to kill some of his slaves if he's bored of them, but it is also not out of any actual standards, genuine kindness, or care for humans but it is actually because he can't capture their soul to torment them.
- Kills Detective Derek Green's sister and takes her soul, and eventually takes Derek's soul too after he's summoned by the Cult of X.
- Although it may seem like he might have moral agency issues due to being made of dark matter, he does not suffer from any issues regarding moral agency as he's not made out of any evil force of darkness but rather the scientific dark matter of space, and he's shown to understand human like morals as he's been stated to love both the good and the evil in humanity, demonstrating that he does have moral agency.
- He gets away with all of his crimes and is never punished or defeated for good.
- Although him idolizing Sonic may seem like a possible mitigating factor, it is not as X's actions oppose everything Sonic's heroism stands for and he can dislike Sonic if he doesn't act the way X wants him to act, so it is more fanaticism and how Sonic's heroism interests him rather than any true genuine admiration or care for him.
- Not only that, but he completely lacks any sort of regard for Sonic and his feelings, as he kills his closest friends, such as Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman just because he could. Even though the latter was his archenemy, Sonic would never go out of his way to outright kill him.
- Whilst the original story may simply be pure shock value without any plot, lore or message, the series itself has gained an actual plot with a less exploitive sequel, more legitimate admirable value, and major lore, his origins being expanded upon and his murders being brought up frequently, meaning they aren't just there to be shocking.
Trivia[]
- He's in some ways similar to Mephiles the Dark from Sonic '06, both of them being godly dark entities that copied the form of the main characters (Sonic and Shadow) and being rather sadistic.
- He is a special case of a Pure Evil villain, as many villains who start off with a Story Moral Value of Depraved Exploitation where villainy is completely dominant to heroism being the first installment of the series, only to tip the imbalance in later installments, making him a rare case of an initial heinous standard favored to challenge by admirable standard approval Pure Evil.
- The entity from the original game is counted as a distinct entity from JC's X since JC was outted as a pedophile causing Crimson to delete JC's lore of his games, so the games no longer count.
