When it comes to killing, I can’t get enough of it.
~ Sinestro.
Now I’ll have the sheer delight of destroying the last of the Green Lanterns.
~ Sinestro's ironic words before John fatally wounds him.

Thaal Sinestro (or simply Sinestro) is the secondary antagonist of Green Lantern: Beware My Power, the fifth installment of the Tomorrowverse.

He is the sadistic former Green Lantern and mentor of Hal Jordan, turned the terrorist leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps, who relishes slaughter. He is slowly revealed to be responsible for all the events in the film, including corrupting Hal Jordan and assisting him in his ultimate plot to destroy the universe.

He was voiced by Rick D. Wasserman who also played Surtur in Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes .

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He instigated the years-long Rann-Thanagar War through a series of false-flag attacks, including destroying Rann’s capital city and sabotaging any peace talks. One attack alone claimed hundreds of lives.
  • When Rann and Thanagar finally came to a tentative peace via the construction of the Zeta Beam teleported, he sabotaged the experiment to teleport Thanagar into Rann’s atmosphere, killing millions and causing climate catastrophe on both sides along with reigniting the conflict.
  • He infected Hal Jordan with the Parallax parasite, turning him into a power-hungry supervillain who wanted to remake the universe in his own twisted image.
  • He, along with the now corrupted Hal Jordan, wiped out the entire Green Lantern Corps.
  • Held John Stewart hostage to force Green Arrow, Shayera, and Adam Strange to drop their weapons, later knocking all of them out to imprison them in Hal Jordan's cell.
  • He rendered himself invisible to overhear the conversation of the heroes with Hal Jordan about the Zeta Beam Weapon, later mocking them about how they were "useful" after all before launching an attack on Rann to recover said weapon.
  • He sent his corps to attack the heroes and Rannians who opposed them, while he personally engaged John Stewart in a fight.
  • He removed John Stewart's ring and tossed it aside before preparing to attempt to kill John, even stating that killing the last of the Green Lanterns would bring him "sheer delight."
  • While he may appear loyal to Hal Jordan, this is merely out of fanaticism because Hal Jordan's plan of destroying the universe and remaking it in his image would inevitably lead to countless innocent deaths, something Sinestro clearly liked.
  • Unlike nearly every other incarnation of Sinestro, this version lacks any redeeming traits, being a For the Evulz sociopath who admittedly loves killing for the sake of it and thrives on chaos and death.

Trivia[]

  • This is, so far, the only version of Sinestro to be Pure Evil.
