Artificial Intelligence Program Sigma, also known as just Sigma, is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside The Meta) of the web series Red vs. Blue and the main antagonist of the film Red vs. Blue: Restoration.

He was developed for Special Operations, originally assigned to Freelancer Agent Carolina but, due to future events, was later given to Agent Maine in order for him to communicate. Sigma is a Fragment of the Alpha A.I, specifically the Alpha's ambition and creativity.

He was voiced by Elijah Wood in the web series, who also voices Scarecrow in Arkham Shadow. And by Miles Luna in the Restoration film, who also voices Felix in the same web series.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

Background

• During the attack on the Insurrection Base, while they were exiting Sigma notes the two soldiers that were on the freeway, who caused Maine's injury, when he notices this, he says to agent Maine "if they were the ones who caused his injury" and once Maine notices this with an angry growl. Sigma responds in a rather sadistic manner and tells him to "sic 'em".
• Took the time to meet his "brother" Delta, even though it was against the protocol of A.I. coming in contact with each other and tells him that they should stick together before joining Maine.
• Shortly after his implantation in Maine, Sigma began giving the agent serious headaches as he tried to take over his mind.
• He along with Gamma, deceived Carolina by saying that Tex isn't a good freelancer without her A.I. Omega, causing a heated conversation between herself, the Director, Texas and the Counsellor. Throughout this argument Sigma dons a smug look on his face.
• Assists the Director, along with Gamma and Omega, in torturing Alpha, to create a new fragment.
• When the Director ordered the three of them to log off, Sigma went against his orders and stored himself in a nearby security camera.

Red vs. Blue

• Masterminded the rampage of A.I units, by brainwashing Maine and turning him into the Meta. All for the sake of himself achieving "Metastability" and becoming the new Alpha A.I.
• When he made Maine forcefully steal Carolina's A.I.s Eta and Iota before throwing her off a cliff, he displays no concern, despite them having a previous established relationship.
• He was behind the Meta's rampage of his fellow Freelancers, also his own teammates, and the theft of their A.I. He made Maine kill his own team against his will.
• Despite being seemingly destroyed, the damage Sigma left on Maine's mind was irreparable, leaving the Meta as a damaged shell of a man.
  • The Meta also kept hunting the A.I. fragments on his own, making Sigma indirectly responsible for this.
• Sigma still lived as a memory of his fellow A.I. Epsilon, who tried to suppress him as his actions still gave Carolina nightmares.

Restoration

• Returned to torment Epsilon one last time before he destroyed himself to save his friends, displaying zero remorse for his actions and the deaths he caused.
• Later used the other A.I. memory fragments that were overwhelming Tucker to create a new Meta and start another rampage.
• When Tucker continually refused to be controlled by him and the other fragments, Sigma made Gamma trap Tucker in a torturous scenario for what seemed like 10 years to make him comply.
• Sigma attacked different facilities as the Meta on the search for what was left of Epsilon, killing multiple people in the process.
• Ambushed the Reds and Caboose on Hargrove's ship, killing Sarge at the end of the fight and stealing the memory unit.
• Arrived on Blood Gulch and tried to kill the Reds and the Blues, even insulting Grif and Simmons for not giving him a "decent fight".
• Later tried to kill both Tex and Carolina when they got in his way before being trapped on the memory unit.
  • During his fight with Tex, Sigma showed personal villainy towards her, calling her a ghost and saying that her efforts were annoying.
