Sigma is a major antagonist in the Archie Comics' series of Mega Man, being the main antagonist of the Dawn of X and the crossover comic Sonic the Hedgehog/Mega Man: Worlds Unite. This version of Sigma, much like his canon counterpart, was the leader of the Maverick Hunters a group of people tasked with hunting down rogue reploids. Sigma, however, would grow to believe the reploids are superior to humans and sought to wipe them all out to create a world where reploids reigned supreme.
After being defeated he was turned into a computer virus and now sought to conquer the entire multiverse so that he could reign supreme over everything.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- After years of fighting, he would start to see Reploids as superior to humans and would turn against humanity and become the leader of the Mavericks.
- He and his forces would stage an attack on Arcadia City proceeding to bomb the place enough to leave it in flames, and have his forces kill off various Maverick Hunters who refused to join him.
- Forces Dr. Eggman and the Deadly Six to help him in his plans, which included forcing the former to create a brand new body for him.
- When the Unity Engines created on his orders are activated, they merge Sonic's and Mega Man's world, and many people, including Team Dark and everyone in the Mega City government building, are killed in the process.
- Uses the Unity Engines that Sigma intends to use to harness the power of entire worlds. Sigma does all of this as part of his desire to become a god and rule over the multiverse, not caring that his doing this is putting the entire multiverse at risk.
- Destroyed Sky Patrol to prevent the heroes from getting involved.
- Even after he is defeated the amount of damage Sigma has done to the entire multiverse is so severe that Xander is forced to go back in time to stop Sigma in the past.
- Unlike his canon counterpart, this version of Sigma has full agency as there is no proof he was infected with the Maverick virus and he turned against humanity out of his own sense of supremacy.
- While the heinous standard of both the Archie Comics series of Mega Man and Sonic is quite high, Sigma easily stands out due to his plans having the risk of potentially dooming the entire multiverse, a scale that no other villain has reached.
Trivia[]
- Despite coming from Mega Man's universe, he is the only Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog Pure Evil to originate from the Post-Super Genesis Wave continuity, as while Captain Metal is featured in it as well, he is a remnant of the Pre-Super Genesis Wave multiverse.
