Shockwave is a supporting antagonist in the 2011 film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the third installment of the original continuity of the Transformers live-action film series. He was a high-ranking Decepticon scientist and one of Megatron's subordinates.
He was voiced by Frank Welker, who also voiced the Kandarian Demon in The Evil Dead, Dr. Viper in SWAT Kats, Thumper in A Bug's Life, the Red Death in How to Train Your Dragon and Unicron (while posessing Megatron) in Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Shockwave makes it pretty clear from his words and actions that he cares nothing more than to slaughter some Autobots and enjoys hearing them die.
- While he follows Megatron and even calls him his friend, it's just fanaticism since he is not protective towards him and shows no reaction when Sentinel punches him.
- Even prior to the foundation of the Autobots and Decepticons, Shockwave was displeased with the era of peace that Sentinel Prime brought to their homeworld.
- Upon his arrival, he (along with Astrotrain) massacres many Chinese workers.
- He demonstrates a very cruel and sadistic side of himself when he kills Elita-One in front of Optimus. That event made Optimus hate Shockwave so much greatly that he wants him dead, something that Shockwave was pleased to see and used to taunt his emotions.
- He summoned the Driller to his side and ordered it to destroy the entire Galileo Building and devour numerous humans inside, including Sam, Epps, and Carly.
- The death of the Driller was something that didn't even upset him that much and instead wished Optimus to join it in extinction.
- Despite the series's high heinous standards, Shockwave stands out for lack of resources, because obviously he had arguably smaller resources than Megatron and Sentinel Prime, who had higher ranks than him, but he still shares the same Pure Evil status as Starscream, whom he shared approximately equal rank and resources.
Trivia[]
- This is the only incarnation of Shockwave to be Pure Evil, as well as the only Pure Evil Villain from John Barber.
