Shiriki Utundu is the main antagonist of Tokyo DisneySea's version of the Tower of Terror. He is a violent and sadistic African deity possessing an idol of itself and causing death, destruction, chaos and misery wherever it goes.
He was voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Shiriki is shown to be a highly sadistic and bloodthirsty being, often killing and torturing people in some of the most brutal ways imaginable. As he is doing this, he grins and cackles at their fates.
- Though many of the deaths caused by him are a result of mishandling his idol, it is shown that he still kills people regardless of if they interact with it at all. This is best shown in the attraction itself when he seemingly comes to life after showcasing his murder of Hightower to guests, and then attempt to kill them in a similar fate, without provocation.
- Shiriki takes pride in the horrific deaths he inflicts on others, as he showcases his murder of Harrison Hightower III in the pre-show of the attraction, using magic to showcase the death on a stain-glassed window.
- When the greedy Mtundu tribe steal the deity's idol, the chief of the tribe at the time decides to inflict revenge on the Kokoko tribe, who deserted them from their land by using the statue against them by hammering nails into the idol's head, with unexpected results. Following the chief's ritual, the statue leaves and kills the entirety of the Kokoko village, and then destroys their village along with them.
- When the chief is remorseful over the atrocity that he had inadvertently caused, he attempts to toss Shiriki's idol into a river, which only causes him to be transported to a hellish forest-like dimension, where it is nighttime eternally and he is attacked and killed by snakes and leeches for a week straight, experiencing this slow and horrific death on repeat. He was barely alive when he returned to his village to tell them about the traumatizing experience.
- After Harrison Hightower III steals the idol by force from the Mtundu tribe, he takes it to his hotel, Hotel Hightower to store it. When he extinguishes a cigar on the idol's head, the idol uses magic to hijack the elevator, and drop Hightower from hundreds of feet, killing him.
- Following this, the idol condemned Hightower to haunt the tower for eternity, with him reliving his death on repeat.
