People of Earth, we are Decepticon peacekeepers patrolling the galaxy.
~ Shatter introducing herself and Dropkick to Sector 7.
After I kill you... I KILL HER!
~ Shatter's breakdown, threatening to kill Bumblebee's human companion.

Shatter is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Dropkick) of the 2018 sci-fi action film Bumblebee. She is a Decepticon spy tasked with hunting down and executing the Autobots with her partner, Dropkick. She is Bumblebee's arch-nemesis.

She was voiced by Angela Bassett.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • Prior to the events of the film, she joined the Decepticons because she is destructive, ruthless and sadistic to the point having a sick pleasure in killing Autobots.
  • She partook in the assault led by Shockwave that forced the Autobots to abandon Cybertron. When Optimus Prime stayed to give them time to escape, she attacked him along the other Decepticons.
  • Upon finding Cliffjumper in the rings of Saturn, she and Dropkick tortured him into revealing Optimus' location. After receiving a signal from Bumblebee (which was accidentally activated by Charlie Watson), she ordered Dropkick to kill Cliffjumper, even laughing while seeing his flying corpse.
  • She tricked the humans of Sector 7 into thinking they are agents of peace and that Bumblebee is a war criminal so they could form an alliance to make the hunt much easier.
  • Upon capturing Bumblebee, they tortured him until they learned that he received a message from Optimus Prime about making Earth their new refuge and protecting it from Decepticon forces. Upon seeing this, Shatter and Dropkick decided to summon their Decepticon allies to Earth, as they plan to destroy it.
    • She even ordered Dropkick to kill Powell after he heard everything and realized how foolish he was to trust them. Since he was passing a message to Agent Burns about the mistake at the moment he got killed, Burns thought that all Cybertronians are evil, and would think as such until Bumblebee saved him.
  • While installing the signal device to bring the Decepticon armada to Earth, she shot down the helicopter in which Burns was inside, killing the pilot in the process. Burns would've died as well had Bumblebee not save him.
  • While she and Dropkick were working together, nothing indicates they care for one another, so it's likely they only get along because they're sadists. This is made even more evident when she didn't show any concern when Dropkick died.
  • After Charlie shut down and destroyed the device, she tried to shoot Charlie to death and would've succeeded had Bumblebee not intervene.
  • Before her demise, Shatter yells at Bumblebee that after she was done with with him, she would kill Charlie as well.
  • Despite the continuity's heinous standards being quite high, Shatter stands out for wanting to destroy the Earth with fewer resources, as she wanted to do so by burning the planet to the ground with her built-in weapons as she can't be compared to Scourge or Unicron.
    • Since the film is a reboot, then the other films are not canon to the continuity's timeline, so she doesn't need to compete with the other villains of the series.

Trivia[]

  • Shatter, alongside Airachnid and her One counterpart, is one of three Transformers Pure Evil villains to be female.
