~ Serrator introducing himself to the Power Rangers. |
Serrator is the overarching antagonist of Power Rangers Samurai and the central antagonist of Power Rangers Super Samurai.
He is the entitled Nighlok King who once ruled the Netherworld years before Master Xandred came to be. He had the endgame motive to split the Earth and merge it with the Netherworld in order to rule both worlds at the same time, which the risk is too great would result in both sides completely annihilated in the process.
He was voiced by Derek Judge.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General/Background[]
- It's stated that Serrator, due to being the Nighlok King, has ruled the Netherworld with an iron fist prior to being sealed away somewhere unknown.
- He is the textbook example of a master manipulator, hiding underneath the facade of a generous and loyal individual when in truth, he is a deceitful schemer.
- He tricks those into serving under his wing and often makes promises of handsomely rewarding said servants should they do his bidding, in actuality, is nothing more than a lie itself. Dayu, Deker, and even Master Xandred were examples of his trickery.
- His overall motive is to conquer both the Earth and the Netherworld by merging the two together.
- To do so, he would require a wide amount of fear by staging numerous attacks to mark the wages in one straight line and two half-human Nighloks, one having the most despair while the other has the most hatred for humanity, which the latter will be the catalyst to break the primary wage. Doing so would split the Earth open to allow the Sanzu River to flow into forms of tsunamis, which would result in both sides suffering billions of deaths, making this a double-omnicide.
- He has zero levels of care for any of his Nighlok servants or Papyroxes, seeing them as pawns for his own personal gain, and only has them either spared/saved to prolong any further use they have till they're no longer necessary to his endgame. For instance, convincing Xandred to spare Epoxar and deflecting an attack for Pestilox is out of pragmatism, demonstrating such examples.
- He is responsible for turning Dayu and Deker into Nighloks in the first place. He tricked the former into keeping his word of saving Deker from a housefire in return turning them both into Nighloks once she traded away her humanity, but by that end, erased Deker's memories of Dayu just to further her misery.
- This proves to be a fate worse than death as it eventually drives Dayu to her breaking point and being consumed by her own despair, even Deker to this day doesn't remember his wife and must fight a worthy opponent to end his torment, making Serrator responsible for the villains they become in the present. To make matters worse, it lasted for centuries as of now, and even after Serrator's death, the curse upon the two has proven to be permanent.
- It's also heavily implied that, while not confirmed, Serrator might have caused the housefire as a means to properly trick Dayu into his deal.
- Despite having several funny lines, none of them detract from his heinousness or change the tone of his actions and presence as he is still taken seriously as a legitimate and actual threat.
- He's proven to be a lot worse than Master Xandred in terms of the heinous standards, as Serrator's double-omnicide attempt is a unique niche that carries out more collateral damage to both the Earth and his own world compared to Xandred's attempt at overflowing the Earth.
- Therefore, he not only outmatched Xandred but he managed to be one of the most despicable Power Rangers villains for attempting to destroy the Earth under much more destructive methods like Queen Bansheera and Octomus the Master, especially being far less resourceful than to those originating from space, namely Prince Vekar and Emperor Mavro.
Super Samurai[]
- He sent Switchbeast to assist Master Xandred, making him responsible for the former's actions of transferring people's souls into inanimate objects where they are aware of their surroundings while their bodies are in a trance of the objects they were switched with.
- The victims inside the objects were almost recycled, meaning it would've destroyed their souls and left their bodies in those trances forever had it not been for Mike and Emily's efforts.
- Jayden, Kevin, Mia, Antonio, and even Bulk and Spike were victims of this, especially Antonio, as it temporarily left him with a fear of fish due to a cat trying to eat him after his soul was placed into a fish.
- He feigned loyalty to Master Xandred in order to use him for his own gain and to demonstrate his "loyalty", he killed a horde of Moogers which he spawned, at least dozens, in a single blast with little to no effort.
- He introduced himself to the Samurai Rangers by killing two Spitfangs in a sneak attack and "tested" their strength in a one-sided sadistic fight.
- Orchestrated several attacks throughout Panorama City in order to form the wages required to start his plan of splitting the Earth open through the help of his Nighlok servants, these attacks involve:
- Tasking Crustor into capturing the BullZord and intending to use it to destroy the Earth.
- Sending Skarf to devour and eat anything in his path, nearly endangering civilians almost caught in the former's eating spree, later having him killed by Dayu and Deker to make him twice as powerful as a giant.
- Having Grinataur use his black sand to cause people to eat and drink in a gluttonous manner until their stomachs explode, a rather brutal attempt of having multiple people killed in that matter.
- Spreading his ashes to make people on the island Monolua fear each other, putting them under the illusion that they see each other as "enemy monsters".
- Having Maldan arming multiple Moogers with blasters in order to replace the era of the sword.
- Sending Pestilox to infect people's stomachs with his swarm of bugs, causing them torturous agony to form the last wage needed.
- Manipulates Dayu and Deker into working for him in exchange for repairing Urasama and Dayu's Harmonium, which he tries to use the latter's Harmonium to split the Earth open in the attempt.
- He even goes as far as to outright admit to Dayu that he needed her misery and Deker's power for his own end, taunting the fact she's just another "pawn" to his plans and that it took so long to figure it out.
- Betrays Master Xandred when he became too much of a threat against his plans and soon usurped his authority over his ship.
- He tries to kill Octoroo when his back is turned demanding he hand over the Harmonium while calling Xandred a weakling.
- He tries to convince Deker to complete the wages by destroying the barrier while the wages themselves start opening up, causing mass destruction and likely numerous casualties on the way.
- One wage temporarily made Deker unconscious. He claims that if Deker did so, he would be free from his curse, which he put on him in the first place, and is likely to be another deal he wouldn't have kept his word on.
- After his plan ultimately backfired thanks to Deker, he took his anger out on the Samurai Rangers and proceeded to try and kill them for one last time.
- His death is played for karma and satisfaction for what he did to Dayu and Deker, as well as the rest of his actions. As he put it, he wanted to split open the Earth, but is destroyed by the Gigazord slicing him in half with the Shark Zord.
Trivia[]
