Lucifer, also known as The Devil and Satan, is the main antagonist of the Castlevania reboot series Lords of Shadow.
He is one of the first archangels, the first sons of God, and once the most beloved of all of them, before betraying his father because of his own lust for power and trying to kill him in order to usurp the throne of Heaven, causing him to be defeated and cast away, turning extremely vengeful, and ending up planning to return and exact his vengeance.
Satan is one of the two arch-enemies of Gabriel Belmont/Dracula and also the arch-enemy of Trevor Belmont/Alucard.
He serves as the overarching antagonist and final boss of Lords of Shadow, the unseen overarching antagonist of its two DLCs, Reverie and Resurrection, and its sequel, Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, and the main antagonist of Lords of Shadow 2.
In the English version of both games, he was voiced by Jason Isaacs, who also played Colonel Mekum in Soldier, William Tavington in The Patriot, Dr. Heinreich Volmer in A Cure for Wellness, SkekSo in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, and Reza Zaydan in HITMAN. In the Japanese versions, he was voiced by Tomokazu Sugita.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Masterminded every atrocity in the whole Lords of Shadow series in order to finally rise back, return to Heaven, and take revenge on God.
- Possessed and used Zobek to separate the Earth from the heavens, keeping the spirits of the dead trapped in limbo.
- Forced Gabriel Belmont to murder his own pregnant wife, Marie.
- Used the prophecy of the God Mask to arrange for Gabriel to murder both evil and innocent before attempting to kill both Gabriel and Zobek.
- Had his acolytes, his children, pave the way for his return 1000 years later by bringing hell on earth.
- Killed his last acolyte for not killing the one person he feared, Gabriel Belmont, now known as Dracula.
- He tried to destroy the whole world with the power of a Leviathan, personally tortured by himself.
- Possessed Dracula’s son, Trevor, now known as Alucard, to fight Dracula and was about to escape his body when Dracula prepared to kill him.
- Overall, he is responsible for all the tragedies that happened in the Lords of Shadow series, from the very suffering of humanity to Gabriel's fall into vengeance, which brought him to embrace his inner darkness and turn into Dracula.
