~ Sal revealing his true nature. |
Syakesan also called Sal, is the main antagonist in the 2013 game Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea. He is the older twin brother of Samekichi and the son of Old.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- His sympathetic backstory of losing his mother to suicide is absent in the original game.
- He vehemently hated Samekichi, his own brother, simply because he was jealous of Wadanohara's love for him.
- He attempted to rape Wadanohara and suppressed her memory of the incident.
- When he hears Wadanohara scream for Samekichi’s help, he goes into a murderous rage and threatens to kill him right to her face. He then gleefully promises Wadanohara that he will kill Samekichi afterwards.
- After Samekichi stopped Sal, the latter brainwashes Wadanohara to make her forget about what he did to her, and used this to threaten Samekichi to leave the Blue Sea lest Wadanohara's memories are restored.
- He converts Fukami and Wadanohara to his side in the Bad End 2 and the Normal End 1 respectively, with the former involving Wadanohara and her familiars be brutally murdered by Fukami and the latter involving Wadanohara be forcefully converted to his side through a very painful process and Samekichi being forced to watch it all.
- He destroyed the barrier, starting a war, to wake up Uomihime from a slumber that kept Mikotsuhime at bay.
- He terrorized the Sea Kingdom.
- He goaded Princess Mikotsu to kill Wadanohara and her friends in spite of claiming he ‘loves’ the latter.
- He tortured Samekichi before battling Wadanohara.
- He attempted to kill Wadanohara by stabbing her and leaving her to die of blood loss.
- While he seems to be an innocent person, it all turns out to be just an act.
- Didn't care if his own troops were injured, killed or captured and saw them merely as expendable and as pawns.
- He manipulated Princess Totsusa into invading and poisoning both Tatsumiya and Cherryblod.
- He doesn't care about anyone but himself, Even his "allies" he just uses to increase his power and sees them more as pawns than actual people. That includes Mikotsu, Sheep, Old, Stella, Tsuribari and the members of the Sea of Death who were treated as pawns. As he just wants to be the leader of the Sea of Death. He didn't care if they died or were captured and he also used Mikotsu for her to get injured and didn't care about her being hurt, just for him to save his own skin.
- He didn't care about his father's death, even jokingly remarking that he was no good (although to be fair, he wasn't aware that he was his father), as well as the deaths of Sheep, Stella and Tsuribari.
- Despite him having minor resources due to the troops being unarmed, along with being very weak, cowardly and easy to be defeated, he still is very manipulative and intelligent.
- His "love" for Wadanohara is obviously not genuine as he was willing to rape her, curse her with magic and ultimately leaves her to die to save himself. Additionally, in Bad End 2, he showed no care over the fact that she was killed by Fukami, even encouraging the latter to not feel bad about it.
- He is shown to be a sore loser, as when he loses his battle against Wadanohara, he will make sure that Wadanohara will suffer a great loss no matter what ending is chosen.
- If Wadanohara chooses to trust him, Sal will subject her to extreme pain through the process of converting her to the Sea of Death, not to mention forcing Samekichi to watch. When the ordeal is done, Samekichi is made Sal's prisoner and Wadanohara is brainwashed to Sal's side forever.
- If Wadanohara refuses to trust Sal, the later will stab Samekichi purely to make Wadanohara miserable. This indirectly leads to Wadanohara's own death as she sacrifices herself to restore the Blue Sea and save Samekichi. Wadanohara's death also presumably led to Samekichi committing suicide.
- If Wadanohara backs away from Sal, but asks him why he is the way he is, Sal will refuse to answer her question and, when she was distracted, stab her through the stomach with his sword (although she fortunately survives).
- While he doesn't get punished and is never seen again in the true ending, it doesn't mean he got off scot-free, as he's pretty much was exposed for his crimes and was outcasted for his actions. Considering how he is completely forgotten about by the end of the game, it shows how everyone rightfully condemns him for his actions.
- Even though he was foiled and outcasted, Wadanohara suffers from PTSD because of him.
- While Sal is a member of the Sea of Death, there is nothing that confirms that residents of the Sea of Death are brainwashed/have moral agency issues. It doesn't help that he willingly chose to join the Sea of Death as a child.
