Correct. And should Dorzak make you reluctant may I remind you that if I choose to ignite the photon drive before I am clear of Alpha, all life here will be extinguished by radiation.
~ Sahala's ruthlessness.

Sahala (imposter) or Maya in disguise is the secondary antagonist of the Space 1999 episode "Dorzak".

It was made to lure out the war criminal Dorzak and prove he was the brainwasher fooling them with his charisma. While an act this version of Sahala is a cruel depiction of the aristocrat. As she is willing to kill in order to obtain Dorzak. A threat that makes the Alphans allow the cruel Sahala to finally force Dorzak to reveal himself.

She was portrayed by Jill Townsend.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • While an act it is treated as fictional fictional as the Alphans had to believe the Croton was a violent individual for high command to discover Dorzak's intent.
  • Sahala did not care about any of her companions and by her attitude is more concerned with preserving her own existence.
  • Had xenophobia towards Crotons claiming they are all warmongers with no proof and had tortured Maya into a coma before "appearing".
  • Escapes from her imprisonment and holds the doctor Helena hostage using her as a meat shield.
  • Continues to mongering with Helena causing her mental stress.
  • Threatens the Alphans by claiming she would pollute and kill them all if they didn't hand over Dorzak.
  • Highlighting her hypocrisy as her species claim to be pacifists.
  • While killing nobody and seeming standard she managed to blackmail an entire ship with minimal resources. Allowing her to stand out among villains with more resources and better leaning circumstances.
  • Showed her gun out in defense even while they weren't even armed after the trade.
  • Clearly was willing to kill Dorzak even before hearing him out and had no problem tasing him.
  • At her time of death was scared of Dorzak not out of insecurity but of perishing.

Trivia[]

  • Maya made "Sahala" barbaric to align with Dorzak's image of the real one. Therefore this character is insidious and psychopathic by nature and self preserving.
