Ryo Takashima is one of the three overarching antagonists (alongside Yukio Terada and Sohei Dojima) in Yakuza 2 as well as its remake Yakuza Kiwami 2.

He was the Omi Alliance's chief of headquarters and the patriarch of the Takashima Family. Initially appearing as a polite and respectable man, Takashima is later revealed to be the mastermind behind all of the game's events as he has been secretly working with Yukio Terada, his sworn brother and the leader of the Jignweon Mafia, due to their shared desires of wanting to see the Tojo Clan be abolished, although it is then revealed Takashima was merely manipulating Terada for his own gain in his quest to rule over all of Japan's yakuza.

He was portrayed by Hiroshi Tachi in the original PS2 release and by Hakuryu in the remake.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

• He orders a hitman to shoot Kazuma Kiryu with a non-lethal bullet in order to warn him not to trust anyone. This bullet hits Kaoru Sayama instead.
• He got Yukio Terada to write his plans to his vision. This means he oversaw Terada manipulating Ryuji Goda into starting a gangwar between the east and west sides of Japan using Kiryu, and also allowed the Jingweon Mafia to plant a total of thirty-three bombs around Kamurocho so that they can get revenge for the Tojo Clan's massacre of their brethren, all to weaken the Tojo Clan and the Omi Alliance.
• Once Terada is no longer useful to him, he eliminates him from his plan by shooting him, despite previously calling him his sworn brother, showing he has no care or loyalty towards him.
• He shoots the Omi Alliance's fifth chairman Jin Goda and states he plans to become the Omi's sixth chairman, absorb the Tojo Clan and rule over all of Japan's Yakuza.
• He grabs Kaoru after she attempts to attacks and threatens to Kiryu that he would not hesistate to shoot her.
• He tries to kill Ryuji Goda after he shoots him to protect Kaoru. Despite dying, he ultimately succeeded in causing Ryuji's death.

Trivia

• While his model was updated to resemble his actor, his previous model was reused for Kei Ibuchi with updated textures.
