Ruby Rose is a major antagonist in the RWBY fanfic RWBY: Dark.
This version of Ruby Rose is a serial killer who enjoys killing people en masse and is now allied with Lord Ozpin's empire. Just like in canon, she is the archenemy of Cinder Fall.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- She started her criminal career by murdering her parents.
- She mutilated her own half-sister Yang by cutting out her eyes and arms, then tortured her for a year to become her mind-broken slave.
- She cut a baby's throat and then killed five other children, forcing Yang to kill the sixth just for fun.
- Ruby massacred Team NDGO to test her control over the Grimm.
- In an explicit scene, Ruby rapes a boy whom she forces to undress, although it is not implied in the fanfic as it was in Yang's words after that Ruby orders her to kill him since she had "fun with him," with her depravity driving the boy to beg Yang to kill him as mercy.
- Ruby takes an eye from Cinder and would have killed her if Neo hadn't saved her.
- Although she behaves affectionately and kindly like her canon counterpart, it is ingenuine and further highlights her sadism.
- Although she works for Lord Ozpin, she only does so out of convenience to kill more people.
- She cruelly murdered Neo by impaling her with her scythe.
- Ruby kills not only because she thinks it makes her more powerful, but also for fun and because she finds it funny.
- She is so vile and evil that almost all of the villains in the fanfic despise her for her cruelty.
- Although Lord Ozpin and Dr. Oobleck are a genocidal tyrant and a mad scientist who experiments on corpses, respectively, Ruby stands out due to her sadistic nature and the fact that she has more personal acts towards the rest of the cast, coupled with her lower resources.
- While her characterization is partially based on the canon Cinder Fall's ambition and Tyrian Callows's love of killing, she is far worse and commits more heinous crimes than both of them combined.
- She horribly tortured and maimed Weiss for hours, which caused Weiss to enter a week-long coma, while this was done under Ozpin's orders, she still took sadistic joy in it.
Trivia[]
- She is the only incarnation of Ruby Rose to be Pure Evil, which is ironic considering her canon counterpart is Pure Good.
