NOTE: This page is only about his original video game version as his anime and live action adaption counterparts do not qualify as Pure Evil, thus, only the game version of White’s info and crimes should be put here.

Ho hoh. My dear Miss Fey... I am so very sorry. But I am afraid I must ask you for one more thing: Your eternal silence. Farewell, Miss Fey.
~ Redd White to Mia Fey before killing her.
The police... the courts... to me, they are mere toys. Playthings for my amusement!
~ Redd White
"Suicide"? Eww... She has a collection of suicide reports. There's politicians... policemen... ... ...! There's writing on most of these in pencil. "White"...? This is Mia's handwriting. Wait, I get it! Mia thought he was involved in these "suicides"! White drove them all to...
~ Phoenix Wright as he finds a collection of suicide reports linked to White in Mia's office

Redd White (Japanese: Masaru Konaka) is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Morgan Fey) the Phoenix Wright Trilogy of the Ace Attorney franchise.

He is the secondary antagonist of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (being the main antagonist of “Turnabout Sisters”), and one of the three overarching antagonists (alongside Morgan Fey and Manfred von Karma) of its sequel, Trials and Tribulations.

He is the CEO of Bluecorp, a company that gathers various information on people to which he uses to blackmail them. When he learns that defense attorney Mia Fey has been investigating him, White murders her to prevent her from exposing him.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He has blackmailed hundreds of famous people to use for his benefit, with some of his blackmail victims even committing suicide because of it, and while the exact amount of people who have committed suicide is unclear, the suicide folder in Mia’s office is stated to be the largest, which shows that he has driven a large amount of people to suicide.
    • While the suicides are off-screen, they still have enough of an onscreen impact since the plot happens partly due to the fact that people are being blackmailed. Phoenix comes across several newspaper articles based on the suicides White caused, and uses one of the articles as evidence against White at the end of the second investigation, and a list of all the people White has blackmailed to corner him.
  • After bribing Marvin Grossberg for information about the DL-6 case and learning that the police were using a spirit medium named Misty Fey to solve it, he leaked that info to the press, causing the police and Misty Fey to be humiliated, and causing the Fey Clan to have their reputation ruined.
    • He would later blackmail Grossberg, forcing him to do whatever he wanted under the threat of being turned into the police for his role in the info being leaked, causing him to suffer for the next 15 years.
  • He had April May plant a wiretap on Mia’s phone, and later murders the latter due to her having evidence of his blackmail victims.
  • When Phoenix questions him, White punches him and flaunts in his face that Phoenix can’t charge him with assault, and when Phoenix accuses him of killing Mia, he has Phoenix framed for the murder and presumably tries to send a very incompetent lawyer to represent Phoenix in order to ensure he has no case.
  • He doesn't seem to care for his secretary, April May, since he has no problem with throwing her under the bus over the wiretapping incident to save his own skin.
  • While he does confess to Mia's murder, it is only because out of fear of what could happen to him if the list of his blackmail victims were to be released to the press.
  • While he has some comedic moments ,such as his tendency to make up fancy words, and the gag with Edgeworth not getting his name, they just show how much of a pretentious jerk he is.
  • While he can come across as stupid when testifying against Phoenix, slipping up numerous times and being terrible at keeping his composure, they don’t detract from his villainy as he has still blackmailed several people for two decades.
  • Despite the high heinous standards of Ace Attorney, White stands out for having lower resources as a CEO, but still being able to cause a large number of suicides and ruin countless lives in the process, including lawyers and policemen, which is really awful for the series, as while people have caused suicides before, no one has done it on the scale of White. He also serves as a personal enemy to the Fey Clan.

Trivia[]

  • His anime adaptation is not Pure Evil, as the anime omits his crimes causing individuals to commit suicide, leaving him to fail the heinous standard.
  • White, alongside Excelsius Winner, are the only two Ace Attorney PEs to not be the main antagonist of their debut game.
