Ranbob is the main antagonist of the Tales from the SMP episode "The Lost City of Mizu".

He is a descendant of Ranboo, which is highlighted with his similar appearance and memory issues. Unlike his ancestor however, who was a kind yet stubborn individual who always wanted to do good, Ranbob is a cruel, manipulative, unsympathetic murderer who waits for people to come to the Lost City of Mizu so he could pretend to be friends with them, then turn around and kill them.

He is portrayed by the famous YouTuber Dream.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • For years, he would act nice towards innocent people, only to slaughter them all when they entered the Lost City.
  • When first meeting the four travellers (Isaac, Benjamin, Charles and Cletus), Ranbob did his usual routine of pretending to be nice only to slaughter them all.
  • He brutally killed Cletus by burning a tree down while he was on it.
  • After killing Cletus, he then proceeded to blow up the dome everyone was in, assumingly to try and drown the remaining fishermen.
  • After cornering Charles and Isaac, he would proceed to kill them both after proclaiming that no one ever left the Lost City of Mizu.
  • Considering that there is no one else living in the Lost City, and the amount of blood, bones, and skeletons that are scattered around, it can be assumed that he had murdered all of the previous residents.
  • Although this episode does have comedic bits, including jokes made by Ranbob himself, these moments never do anything to detract from how heinous his actions are. In fact it arguably makes him more cruel as he is joking around with the people that he is planning to murder.
  • Despite not committing crimes on the same level as Dream, this is because Ranbob has far lower resources and does not have the capabilities to commit crimes on the same level. With the resources he does have, however, he would still kill dozens of people.
  • He has a clear understanding of morality as shown by him saying Dream was a good man depending on how you look at it, showing that despite idolizing him, Ranbob understands that Dream has done bad things and thus has an understanding of morality.
  • While it is said that he worships and idolizes Dream, said love never seems to go beyond fantacism, with him seemingly only viewing Dream as a "good man" because he paralelled his own sick ideals.
  • Although it is said that Ranbob has memory issues and has been isolated in the Lost City for many years, which could be seen as tragic, these factors are never played for sympathy, and when they are, its only when Ranbob is manipulating the other fishermen, likely doing it to make them feel sorry for him, thus making him fake tragic.

Trivia[]

  • Ranbob is currently the only Dream SMP villain to be Pure Evil.
  • Him and his timeline is presumebly erase from existent after Dream is kill by Tubbo nuke in series finale, and then server get reset, presumebly by Dream XD.
