Ragyō Kiryūin is the main antagonist of the Kill la Kill fanfic Natural Selection.
The CEO of REVOCS and matriarch of the Kiryuin Family, Ragyo is also a representative of the parasitic aliens known as the Life Fibers, devoted to their goal of annihilating humanity. However, she secretly plans to instead hijack their assimilation of Earth to trap all of humanity and Life Fibers in the Celestial Cocoon and lord over all as a goddess. She is also the perverted and abusive mother of Satsuki Kiryuin, Ryuko Kiryuin, and Nui Harime, as well as the arch-nemesis of both Satsuki and her ex-husband, Soichiro Matoi.
What makes her Pure Evil?[]
- Seduced and married Soichiro Matoi not because she loved him, but to make use of his talents as a scientist.
- Experimented on her daughters Satsuki and Ryuko, trying to fuse them with the Life Fibers. This experiment almost killed Ryuko, will Ragyo showing no care for her daughter's well-being.
- Had 4-year-old Ryuko painfully bonded with the Kamui Junketsu.
- When Soichiro left to begin his revolution against her, Ragyo ordered him to be assassinated.
- Forced her artificial third daughter Nui Harime to kill several animals and even humans to turn her into a killer.
- Constantly gaslit and manipulated both Ryuko and Nui in order to indoctrinate them into the Life Fiber religion. She would also ostracize Satsuki for not being a Life Fiber hybrid like her sisters.
- Raped and molested all three daughters in "purification rituals" under the pretense of helping Satsuki sync with the Life Fibers. Sometimes, she would even order Ryuko and Nui to rape Satsuki
- Would subject Ryuko to painful Mind Stitching to erase any memories of something she wasn't supposed to see, including abuse towards Satsuki, or her true plans for the Life Fibers.
- Whispered a rumor in Nui's ear that Satsuki might betray them in order to get her to kill Satsuki.
- Attempts to kill Satsuki once Honnouji Academy is completed.
- When Ryuko and Nui confront her on Satsuki's disappearance, Ragyo brutally beats both of her daughters.
- Subjects Ryuko to such horrific Mind Stitching that it completely erases her personality. She also forces Nui to keep quiet on the Mind Stitching.
- When Junketsu attempts to restore Ryuko, he accidentally brings her back as a brainwashed, unhinged tyrant. This makes Ragyo indirectly responsible for Ryuko burning down Honnouji's slums and her tyrannical rule over the academy.
- After Ryuko is restored, she reveals that Ragyo plans to betray the Life Fibers by forcing Ryuko to keep everyone trapped in the Celestial Cocoon, so that Ragyo could absorb the power of the Primordial Life Fiber and lord over humans and Life Fibers as a goddess.
Trivia[]
- Alongside her original counterpart, she is one of two versions of Ragyo to be approved as Pure Evil.
- She's also the first fanon Ragyo to be Pure Evil.
- This version of Ragyo could actually be considered worse than her original counterpart in some areas, such as how her sexual abuse now extends to all 3 children and how she plans to usurp the Life Fibers.
