~ Quentin trying to rape Leaven. |
“ | You listen to me, woman. Every day I mop up after your bleeding heart. The only reason you even EXIST IS BECAUSE I KEEP YOU! I know your type. No kids, no man to f**k you. So you go around outraged, sticking your nose up other people's a**holes, SNIFFING THEIR BUSINESS. You missed your boat, Holloway. You're all dried up inside there, aren't you? That's your f**king problem. | „ |
~ Quentin after Holloway calls him a "Nazi". |
Quentin McNeil is the main antagonist of the 1997 film Cube. He is a divorced police officer who first appears as the group's strong benevolent leader, but he quickly reveals himself to be a heartless monster.
He was portrayed by Maurice Dean Wint.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- It's subtly implied that he murdered other survivors in the Cube, judging from the blood on his hands shown when he's first introduced.
- Dropping Holloway to her death while pretending to save her, then lying to the group about it, just because they had an argument earlier.
- Speaking of said argument, if Holloway's accusations are correct, Quentin angrily beat his own wife and kids and even cheated on the former with someone younger long before being put in the cube.
- Abandoning Worth and Kazan so he can escape the cube alone with Leaven.
- Attempting to rape Leaven (who's at school age) and then brutally beating Worth with a shoe just for stopping it.
- Throwing Worth into two cube rooms without caring about possible boobytraps.
- Stabbing Leaven and Worth to death with a broken hatch lever, and then nearly killing the autistic Kazan (who he already hated because of it) with his bare hands. Thankfully, Worth uses his final moments to stop Quentin and he gets crushed to death.
Trivia[]
- It's unknown if his counterpart from the 2021 Japanese remake also counts as Pure Evil.
