| ~ Necrafa announcing her plan to use the Spectral Dragon to destroy the realm of Gemina. |
Queen Necrafa is the main antagonist of Nickelodeon TV series Mysticons, serving as the overarching antagonist of the first arc, the main antagonist of the second arc and the posthumous antagonist of the third arc.
She was a elven sorceress, that found Spectral Hand's mask and wore it, becoming a powerful lich queen in the process. Necrafa later decided to destroy Realm of Gemina.
She was voiced by Valerie Buhagiar.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- Although she was influenced by the mask into becoming evil, she still has clear moral agency as she does have a clear personality, and it was shown that people who are influenced by the mask can go against it, like the witch who created the mask did when she refused to free the spectral hand, as well as Proxima when she was against destroying the realm, showing that people who wear the mask still have some moral agency, and Necrafa was never shown to go against the mask, unlike Proxima. Necrafa was perfectly fine with destroying the entire realm and even gloated about doing so.
- Also, the Mask's purpose is to manipulate anyone wearing it into freeing the Spectral Hand. Despite this, Necrafa never even mentioned it or made any effort to free it despite wearing the Mask for centuries, instead using the Mask's power for her own plans to conquer or destroy Gemina with a Spectral Dragon. This fact proves that Necrafa was never a slave to the Mask or the Spectral Hand and committed her evil entirely of her own volition, and shows she has no loyalty to the entity that gave her powers.
- Her past of being spurned by her people is only mentioned so briefly that it isn't played for sympathy nor does it explain why she became the monstruous villain she did. The fact that she never even mentions this in the present proves it had no bearing on her heinous actions.
- Furthermore, when she came across the mask and the mask spoke to her, she just stared at the mask with an apathetic look and casually wore it (in contrast to Proxima who was genuinely hesitant before putting on the mask and tried to resist it), which suggests that she wasn't a particularly good or moral person back when she was an elf.
- Doesn’t care about her minions and only uses them as a pawn to her plans. This is ultimately made clear when she betrays Dreadbane for taking too long to revive her by throwing him inside the portal of where she was imprisoned in (an act that nearly killed him and caused him to lose his memory for several episodes), killed one of her minions during her first encounter with the second generation Mysticons, and occasionally threatens Tazma in some episodes despite the latter becoming genuinely loyal to her.
- Though she refers to the Spectral Dragon as her pet and her child, there's no genuine affection in her voice and she only sees it as a weapon to destroy Gemina with, never showing any care for it beyond that.
- Unlike most of the Mysticons other enemies, she's never given any comedic or light-hearted moments throughout her screentime and is played completely seriously. The only comedy in any of her scenes, such as Arkayna and Zarya mocking her over the top villainy (particularly her fashion sense in Arkayna's case) or Piper making goofy facial expressions at an illusion of her, come from other characters and never take away from the genuine threat she poses to Gemina.
Background[]
- Sometime after she wore the mask, she presumably took over the Realm of Gemina (or at least attempted to) and was implied to have killed the original Mysticons during their final battle with her.
- Was responsible for corrupting General Bane into becoming her loyal minion which makes her indirectly responsible for the many heinous acts he did in an attempt to resurrect her.
- Was also implied to have done the same thing to Tazma in “Through My Enemy’s Eyes”.
- Had Adakite Flowstone betray the original Mysticons (despite her being their friends) by having her give information about them in return for more power.
Season 1[]
- After Dreadbane frees her from her prison, she spitefully blasts him with magic for not freeing her sooner before callously throwing him through the portal he'd used to free her, something that almost killed him and left him with amnesia because of the head injury he received. She also sadistically mocks his declaration of love for her by saying "I love you, not".
- Transformed her skeletons into vicious specters as a "makeover", with some of the reactions by the skeletons indicating that the transformation was painful.
- She attempted to Invade Drake City and tried to turn Drake City’s citizens into her Undead Specters.
- She attempted to obtain the four magical gems that made her immune to the Mysticons powers, trying to kill Matthis and other nearby civiliians for no reason in the process. It reached the point where she was willing to kill everyone inside Sky Pies just to obtain them.
- Threatened to throw Tazma into the portal she was freed from unless Tazma proved that she has vision. This led to Tazma telling her about the prophecy and Necrafa sending her to get it from nova terron's mind.
- When realizing they need the codex to reveal the prophecy, Necrafa sent Tazma to search for it inside the portal and the desert realm she was imprisoned in, with this act breaking Tazma's rebellious spirit and making her unquestionably loyal to Necrafa.
- Upon receiving the spectral dragon egg from Tazma, she plans on using the spectral dragon to destroy the Realm of Gemina.
Season 2[]
- Sent Tazma multiple times to capture Arkayna and her twin so she can use them to free the spectral dragon and destroy the realm.
- When the mysticons came to rescue Proxima, she took advantage of it by disguising herself as Proxima and when arkayna came close, she dropped her disguise and captuered her.
- When the spectral dragon wasn't released at first, she furiously lashed out at Tazma and started destroying stuff in her lair out of anger. When Tazma promised she will fix it, Necrafa threatened to kill her if she does not fix it in less than one hour.
- She was genuinely delighted when seeing the spectral dragon release and the opportunity to fulfill the prophecy, using it to first attack the astromancers academy and then attack Drake City.
- When Dreadbane tried impressing her for the final time (by stealing the magical rings which the Mysticons planned on using to defeat her), she pretends to be pleased by this so he could give her the rings. However, after Arkayna tries convincing him that she never cared for him, she grows impatient and attacks him, openly stating that she hates him and views him as worthless. This was ultimately the cuase of her death as Dreadbane wouldn't have surrendered the rings to the Mysticons if she tried convincing him that she cared for him.
- This makes her indirectly responsible for the mask corrupting Proxima as the mask's remains where left behind shortly after her death.
