~ Queen Bansheera threatening her general, Diabolico, which incites his betrayal. |
Queen Bansheera is the main antagonist in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.
She is the evil queen of the Demons who intends to rule all of humanity and conquer the Earth, she tasked Diabolico with restoring her palace, the Skull Cavern. She is the mother of Prince Olympius and the arch-nemesis of Carter Grayson/Lightspeed Red Ranger.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- Thousands of years ago, she ruled the Earth, having her army of demons terrorize them prior to being sealed away.
- Her overall motive is to rule over the Earth and wipe out humanity so only she and he Demons reign supreme. Despite that, she's also proven to be uncaring of her kind, seeing them as pawns beneath her reach.
- She proves to be one of the worst, if not the worst, bosses in the franchise. She shows zero gratitude for her minions' efforts and often threatens their lives should they fail again, as well as insults them for their "incompetence", taking them for granted.
- She also isn't above having them killed for her own selfish gain between either restoring her palace or destroying the Lightspeed Rangers once and for all with zero remorse. Her ungratefulness and sadism for that are exactly why Diabolico defected and as he describes her to a mortally wounded Loki, she has "no heart".
- She is a horrible mother to her son Olympius as she treats him no better than she treats her minions. She often lashed out at him for numerous failures and when he died at the hands of the Lightspeed Rangers, it provoked no concern in her or never an ounce of mourning for him, demonstrating how she just viewed her son as a pawn.
- Her verbal abuse against him caused Olympius to be desperate in his heinous actions to earn his mother's love, which Bansheera lacked any sort at all. Even when she does praise or compliment Olympius (like when she first saw Impus again and when he brings Diabolico back to her), it rings hollow when she only does it when he isn't failing her and as pragmatic villainy to ensure he stays loyal to her side.
- She also pretends to be relieved to see he escaped the Shadow Realm, while she omits how she left him there, meaning any pretension of being a good mother is strictly manipulation.
- Despite the high heinous standards of Power Rangers, combined with her heinous acts committed by next-generation villains in similar matters, Bansheera is only restricted and bound to Earth where she cannot perform anything outside on a galactic to universal scale like Lord Arcanon, Prince Vekar, Emperor Mavro, Emperor Gruumm, and Darkonda despite the resource tier.
- Even then, what she does in her acts (e.g. erupting a volcano, summoning tidal waves, and allowing an asteroid/meteorite to hit Earth) are done on a much more destructive and larger scale, as well as her Bad Boss treatment to what she's done to her minions and her son are unique.
- While a demon, she still has full-on moral agency as the other demons have at least one positive trait in their personalities, like Diabolico for example, whereas Bansheera lacks any. Plus, while other demons are oftentimes comedic, Bansheera is played 100% seriously in-universe.
Lightspeed Rescue[]
- She and her minions, especially Diabolico and her son Olympius, staged multiple attacks to destroy Mariner Bay in order to restore her palace, the Skull Cavern. These attacks involved:
- Erupting a volcano to destroy the city.
- Starting a ceremonial ritual where the solar system is aligned that caused mass destruction,
- Having Olympius send Vilevine to spread gazillion poisonous spores to infect the city's populace.
- Sending Magmavore to erupt a volcano for a second time after the attempt with Trifire.
- Summoning large tidal waves twice the size to flood the city, as well as the Lightspeed Aquabase.
- Allowing an asteroid to hit the city, which could also potentially endanger the Earth globally.
- Heavily indicated to have Vypra build a destructive laser weapon activated by the Starlight Crystals to destroy the city.
- She went out of her way to try to kill and prevent the Lightspeed Rangers from destroying the asteroid by restraining them as a means of ever destroying Mariner Bay.
- Hired Triskull to fully complete her body using human lifeforce, only to backfire when the humans he kidnapped and shrunk were used to heal Trakeena.
- Ordered Olympius to assassinate Trakeena with a poisoned dagger, though it ends up turning her into a mindless, gigantic abomination and starts attacking Mariner Bay, likely to have caused casualties.
- This also makes her indirectly responsible for Trakeena's death, who was killed in battle by the Rangers.
- While she wasn't the one who trapped him there, she abandoned Olympius while laughing with sadistic glee and banished him there as punishment for being a "failure" despite the times he had proven his loyalty to her, leaving him in the mercy of past Demons defeated by the Lightspeed Rangers. Olympius is unlikely to survive any longer if he never got out of the Shadow Realm in time alongside the Gatekeeper.
- This act was enough to disturb even Diabolico, Vypra, and Loki, with the former pointing out how much Bansheera cared more about the Skull Cavern than her own son, despite the fact they didn't even like Olympius since the beginning.
- Absorbed Vypra's soul to restore herself and her physical body, as well as "punishment" for numerous failures in spite of Vypra's efforts (Although she is later revived in Time Force).
- Manipulated Loki into thinking he was one of her "best warriors", in actuality, she was using him as bait to lure the Lightspeed Rangers to finish them off.
- Telepathically forced Diabolico to shoot Loki with the latter's personal bazooka just to kill the Rangers, killing Loki in the process and causing Diabolico to defect from Bansheera for her cruelty, which she laughed at the latter's demise.
- Absorbed and took away Diabolico's abilities for herself, rendering him powerless.
- Tortured the Lightspeed Rangers (minus Carter) by surrounding them in an inferno circle where they nearly died due to the heat intensity and couldn't breathe, it would've been worse had Carter not struck Bansheera in her heart.
- Began attacking Mariner Bay herself in person just to spite the Lightspeed Rangers, which possibly caused casualties.
- When Olympius captured Diabolico to gain her favor, Bansheera painfully brainwashes her former minion into becoming a mindless slave, forcing him back to work for her out of spite and would eventually be the indirect cause of his death.
- Brought back Diabolico and her son Olympius as Super Demons, which they ended up destroying or severely damaging the Lightspeed Rangers' Megazords, almost rendering them powerless except for the new Lifeforce Megazord.
- Attempted to kill Jinxer when he ran out of Monster Cards, deeming him useless to her needs. She only spared him at the last minute when Jinxer brought up placing a Batling Card onto the Lifeforce Megazord as a last resort.
- Ordered Jinxer to activate the Batling Card, producing hundreds of Batlings to attack the Lightspeed Aquabase, from attacking the members, stealing the Lifeforce and Omega Megazords, and destroying it from the outside, which is heavily indicated to have killed numerous members still inside some sectors while some evacuated.
- She starts her plan to summon an army of Demons from the Shadow World to overrun humanity, which would likely kill millions, if not, billions by having Jinxer and the Batlings, through the Megazords, gather ten pillar stones and surround them across the Skull Cavern to prepare the ceremonial ritual, which she would open up the very tomb she and her kind were imprisoned that would potentially unleash over hundreds of them.
- The process had consequential destructive means as Jinxer, controlling the Megazords, caused mass destruction around the city and likely committed a possible amount of casualties along the way.
- When her plot fails, she attempts to drag Carter down with her in the Shadow World where he is likely to be tormented by her and the rest of the Demons for all eternity, which is a fate worse than death. Carter would've been doomed had it not been for Diabolico rescuing him and sealing Bansheera.
